Lovely little fellow. He'll be handsome when he grows up.
I'm very envious, he's just the kind of dog I would get if I were settled and not in an apartment. I both expect and request more pics as he grows

Re: Happy Birthday Sam!
Thank you fellows, it was a lovely day. Minorly rangery gifts this year, including a merino wool jumper, and a Dixon Low D Irish whistle. Jolly good as winter is coming. The only downside was that I was working on my brithday, but then again that's also an upside because at least I am employed.

Re: Hair in history
I'm not sure about particular examples personally, but the following book has tons of information on the cultural use and importance of hair: Encyclopedia of hair: a cultural history By Victoria Sherrow I read a bit of it on google books, and it looks pretty informative. Maybe you have it in a libra...

In that case, take that as a warning not to watch Game of Thrones if there are any minors around...
I was actually quite shocked, as the trailers looked relatively innocuous.

Re: HBO's Game of Thrones Strarts Tonight
I was impressed, and eagerly await the next episode!
There was certainly a lot for a bloke to enjoy. One graphic scene after another.
Let's hope they continue to provide a solid narrative to go with the illicit treats.

Re: Leather Boot & Jerkin Build Time
Looking good Greg, what do you plan to do with the sole? Also, how are you armstreet boots going? (I think I remember you purchasing some...) Re: The leather jacket jerkin, that's the concern I have with doing this. The garment leather is just too useless for a Jerkin. I'll be interested to see what...

Re: Dunedain Star Brooch...
This site demonstrates that the emblem of Elendil was seven five pointed stars, and the star of Elendil was an eight pointed star. It also states that "The device of Arnor was simple five-pointed star on sable square."
Whether any of that is accurate or not is another question.

Re: Boots again
Keep in mind guys, that fully waterproofed leather boots (so that you can stand with them submerged) are not the best thing to aim for. A massive amount of moisture comes from your feet, especially when exercising, so if the boot is waterproof the sweat cannot escape. This opens you up to blisters, ...

Re: Footwear...still looking....
I'm just wearing gaiters and old leather ankle boots at the moment. They're comfortable, and I'm not sure about buying shoes from the USA without trying them on. If they don't fit, the postage back and forth would pay for another new pair of boots! I'm actually tempted to make my own somehow, or ord...
