Re: Wiki Topics - More or Less?
I suppose incomplete would be a better term than empty. What's there is good, but there are things like the underwear and leg section that aren't really filled out. Like we all probably know what winningas are, but people just starting might not. And I didn't know Caedmon was working on it himself. ...

Re: Wiki Topics - More or Less?
I'm not too interested in Ranger's Apprentice, and I've never even heard of the Emberverse until I heard about it here. I wouldn't be opposed to putting those two on the back burner for a while, but I really think the front page and existing topics should really be touched up some, as well as filled...

Re: Scabbard Build
You know, the first time through I didn't even notice the seam in the leather. Even now I don't find it that bad. I'd personally rather have something I made with a minor fault than something bought online. This makes me wish I bought some leather when I had a chance a while back, the most I've done...

Re: Urthgard Soft Kit (Pic Heavy)
That's one hell of a kit and write-up, I can only hope to make one nearly as good when I get around to it. What really blows me away is that you made so much of that. I made the two tunics I used most, but I didn't make them quite right so they almost always feel backwards. And I used a machine for ...

Re: Leaf Spring Swords
I've seen plenty of knives but I don't see any reason you couldn't make a sword with one. Never made one myself, but I do remember someone having their leaf spring blade snap while being drawn out because of the stress in the metal. Folding might be a good idea like Eledhwen said. While I've never l...

Now that's the sort of cloak that I wish I owned! It really beats my army blanket.

Re: Whats your program for ranger fitness?
Fitness? What's that? But really, I'm just starting to work out some to try and get back into shape. I don't think any of my gear from when I last posted still fits, and I wasn't even in good shape then. I'd like to get out and go on a short hike or two every week but that's not really in the cards ...

Re: New belt pouch with Bronze Age zipper!
I never would have thought of that...I don't think I've seen anything quite like it other than our modern zippers. Way more secure than the simple flap we always see. I may have to include that closure when I make a pouch...

Re: For those dealing with this latest storm!!
You guys in the south really have been getting hammered this year. I think you've gotten just as many snow storms this year as we have up north. Just as bad too. I saw weather reports about how it was just as cold down in Georgia as it was here on the average day. I heard nothing about the quake tho...

Looks really good. I think I know where my star is going when I get my hands on one, I never thought about that.

Re: Pictures of my full outfit.
Really nice. Originally I was going to make my kit very similar to this, but it took a more viking/saxon turn. I wish I had half the gear you had, I've been slacking on it. Also going to have to look into that shop you got your tunics at...mine are kinda baggy. I've actually been meaning to try waln...

Re: Alone in the Past
One of the things I really like about this is that's it's not a report made after the fact, that guy is actually out there right now and we're getting an update almost every day. While I wouldn't want to live like that for an extended time, at least alone, I wouldn't mind having the option to go out...

Alone in the Past
So, I came across an article on a blog someone shared on Facebook earlier...skimmed the pictures and just had to look into it more. Basically, this guy is spending 6 months living in the early medieval period during the winter. And we all know the reputation the Russian winter has. Anyway, here's a ...

Re: Plans you want to see?
They were, and the type I favor myself. The Mastermyr was actually what my first chest was based off of, though I changed it quite a bit to make it larger with next to no waste. Most the ones I've made have rather short legs so they're off the ground just a little but don't have too much wasted spac...

Re: Plans you want to see?
Well, here are the plans for the war chest. I'll redo this one later on seeing that it's a bit messy. And I'll add a sketch to this post some time over the next few days, or perhaps a render if I can find some good design software. I know this might not be that clear for someone that's not much of a...
