Hi Mirimaran
I guess it's like an Eket. It's the right length, and as described with 'a broad blade and stabbing point.' But I'll make anyone's interpretations. If anyone has any drawings that they'd like to commission I will make their design a reality for them.

Re: Swordmaker Here - "Merry Meet!"
Hi Folks! I thought this thread was dead too :) RD, long time no chat, how's it going. How's that Suontaka viking sword hey? (The one we're referring to is this one here ) I didn't do the casting. I work with Jeffrey Robinson on bronze castings - he's the master, not just at casting but his sculptur...

Re: Bare Blades by Albion
Ah yes, of course. I assumed we were talking about those moat ones. A proper blank blade from Albion would be a good thing.

Steps in Making my pipes - Tute
Bear with me on the tute. I might make this Malley Root one and take some pics as I go... 1. Basically though you get your block (plateau), plan the overall shape which will be largely dicatated by what you like and what your block will allow. Draw the side profile roughly on the block. 2. Plan the ...

Re: Heath Briar Tobacco Pipe
G'day Kaelln Yeah I am not a big smoker either. Maybe once a week does it for me (though I smoked more as a youngun). Not being much of a smoker I hate the smell of cigarettes. But this Peterson's Sweet Killarney is like creme caramel. Very tasty to a sweet tooth like me. Before I made my first one ...

Heath Briar Tobacco Pipe (Tute Added)
Made a pipe for a mate yesterday. Does anyone else here make their own pipes? If so what materials and methods have you used? If you haven't it's really not hard with some basic tools - you should consider trying it if it's something that grabs your fancy. I can offer a simple tute of how I make the...

Re: The Hobbit - 2011 & 2012
"Director Guillermo Del Toro has confirmed upcoming Lord of the Rings prequel The Hobbit has been put on hold indefinitely because the movie has been caught in a 'tangled negotiation' over the future of the MGM movie studio. The film, based on J.R.R. Tolkien's first book in the fantasy series,...

Re: The best scabbard building site I have ever seen...
Yeah it's a cool tutorial, and a great website - love his shield press. Re the scabbards; I like the three layer 'easy' method for simplicity and foolproofiness. I'd just use a single centre layer and jigsaw the sword profile out of it. And for the top and bottom I'd suggest 1/8" if it's availa...

Re: Bare Blades by Albion
Hey guys Just a heads up these blades are a real hotch potch. Some are DelTin Blades in Fact. Some are only Mild steel and can not be heat treated - in the first batch they didn't alert people, but they are noted if mild now - by labelling them 1018 - the steel type - very low carbon and not heat tr...
