Re: Methods of Bow Conveyance

Thank you for the elaboration and close-up picture.

Haha... I like your sense of humor. ;)

If not movie-magic, perhaps it was some of that Elven-magic Sam was going on about. And Aragorn is a Ranger, so... well... ... he has the power to defy physics.

Re: Sindarin Translations and Transcriptions

Kaelin, I very much like Pedin Edhellen. I used it before I acquired Gateway to Sindarin . I didn't actually spend a lot of time with it, but it seemed a useful resource and a decent way to learn the language by going through the lessons. Concerning the Gateway controversy, I skimmed that review you...

Re: Summer 2010 Photo Contest

Alright, I do intend to enter photos in the "The Last Thing They'll Ever See" category as well as the "In the Shire" category, but I haven't gotten the chance to take those yet. I will now post my entries for "The Last Defender of Sarn Ford" and "Look to the Black ...

Re: Sindarin Translations and Transcriptions

Gateway to Sindarin . EXCELLENT. BOOK. Indeed, an incredible book. I couldn't imagine even being able to gain a foothold on the language without it. Well now that you ask. More then anything I'd like to be able to speak it. I know it may sound a little crazy but the sound of it spoken intrigues me....

Re: Sindarin Translations and Transcriptions

I've got an idea if your game. Why not help us to learn Sindarin? I would love to. I'm always looking for people to learn with -- I'm far from fluent myself; I only have a sufficient understanding of the grammar such that I can construct sentences and perform translations with the aid of David Salo...

Re: Methods of Bow Conveyance

Thank you for the suggestions, friends.

Greg - yes, I was thinking of the Legolas style,, though I didn't realize his bow was actually strapped to his back. It always seemed to me to just magically lie above his quiver. ;)

Methods of Bow Conveyance

Hello, I would appreciate some tips on how to keep one's bow secured onto one's back. I'm not aware of many different ways to do it. I know a common method is to slide it over the head such that the string lies diagonally across the chest, but I'm not sure I like that method. The only other method I...

Re: [Insert witty greeting here.]

However, you get what you pay for with most replica bows. I'd save to invest in something nicer, or look into bow building yourself. I concur. I got one of those replica bows from Medievalcollectibles.com, (which it seems is really the same company as Darkknightarmoury but with a different website ...

Sindarin Translations and Transcriptions

I very much enjoy playing with the Sindarin language. If anyone ever has any texts that he or she would like to be translated, I would love to translate them, free of charge. I can also help with transcribing the Elvish words into the Tengwar script. This can be useful for the production of beautifu...

Very nice. The more black, the more stealth-potential, so your Shadow must indeed be better than Will's.

Greetings!

I just discovered this wonderful forum about a week ago, myself, and I already love the community. I am also quite a young Ranger of only sixteen years. Glad to have you with us. :)
