Re: belt pouch
Okay, I should probably make a new thread for this but as a follow-up, here's a definitive belt pouch... from 1300-1100 BC! Wizard Bag from Hvidegaard DO-2330.jpg Hvidegaard_Overview.jpg https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=auto&tl=en&u=https%3A%2F%2Fnatmus.dk%2Fhistorisk-vide...

Re: belt pouch
Ah, I feel bad now for hijacking Shadrack's thread about his new pouch. That's a good point regarding the Sutton Hoo find. When it comes down to it, pouches are written about in Tolkien. That's what matters for our purposes here. I was simply curious about historical examples to inform the design an...

Oh, of course this is only my own research and if you prefer a later high medieval look, there is plenty of examples out there for you.

Re: belt pouch
Not to derail Shadrack’s thread about his lovely pouch but after being inspired by all the belt pouch love lately, I’ve finally taken up the project myself. I’m sketching out a pattern for my own and I decided to do some research on the early medieval period pouches for inspiration. What I’ve come t...

Re: belt pouch
Maybe I’ve just been staring at turn-shoes for too long but something seems rather authentic about doing it that way. At least for an earlier period of pouches.

Yes, no pressure here but a small run would be most intriguing.

Quite fascinating to see the subtle things that might have influenced the Professor as he created the legendarium.

Re: New version of my original Dunedain Star turtle brooch
Oooh, very pretty! Honestly, this is really kinda selling me on the turtle design vs the cut-out circle that I had been imagining.
