Rangers of Honor

In my mind when I think of rangers I think of men and women who were the honorable protectors of the land, the people, and all that is good. So Ive put a lot of thought into it lately and I think that rangers would have some form of code of honor or creed, similar to the Greek code of honor, the kni...

Happy hobbit day!

Happy hobbit day to all you rangers out there! Hope you all have a great hobbit worthy party! (I know I will.) And as a side note, Im back! Ive gotten more time now that my college classes and red cross volunteering have cooled down into a normal easy to work with routine. So you're all go...

Re: Blanket Roll

Nice how-to/walkthrough! Thanks! I'm sad to admit but Ringulf is right. So very many people don't know how to do a blanket role and I was one of them till I read your post, even though I'm an eagle scout. So thanks! It was easy to follow, effective, and had the things us rangers love so much, pictur...

Eclipse like a viking

Yesterday I convinced my family to celebrate the eclipse like the Vikings. In Norse mythology it was believed that the evil wolf demon, Skoll, chased the sun and during an eclipse would try to devour it. Following this train of thought the Vikings believed if they yelled and made lots of noise it wo...

Re: First Aid Kit

I think that both period and modern kits have their merits, but it never hurts to have both. I think most important though is knowing how to use it. Ive been first aid trained and certified on a modern kit, so there is no way you'll find me using a period kit. But if you know your period kit like th...

I made it!

I finally achieved the rank of eagle scout this past week! Huzzah! Oh, and I've made it back to the forums after being really busy with the red cross. :)

Re: Appologies!

Glad I'm not the only one who has been gone a while. Although my excuse is my volunteer work with the red cross. Fun, but time consuming. :)

Re: Sword Scabbards the inexpensive way

Thank you! You have amazing timing Pete, as I was just looking for a way to make a scabbard for my new sword. I'll have to post the final pics when it's complete. :)

Removing sword rust

We got a new sword, and it had a small rust spot so it leads to the question; Whats the best way to remove sword rust without ruining the finish?
