Re: Current knife and belt axe

Thanks fellas. The sheath is actually pretty old...I made it originally for my Marttiini ranger, but as I rarely use that knife, I decided to see if it would fit with the bushman...and it did. :P Albeit with the ferro rod needed to really wedge it securely. Not exactly a bad thing in my book, as I'm...

Current knife and belt axe

My current belt axe and knife. They used to be a cold steel Viking hand axe and a Cold steel Bushman, but their customized a bit The Bushman also makes a decent spear...and comes with a ferrorod that I'm probably gonna replace with a more rustic looking one. Keeps it wedged in the new sheath nice an...

Re: New(ish) sword

Yes, I suppose. All I handled before this sword was windlass (lots) and cold steel (bastard and viking sword) and those were heavier though. Hence the expectation :)

New(ish) sword

Sooo...this is my hand and half and my main blade at the moment. Its a a tinker hand and half with a bit of modification. (tengwar, rune and stars engravings, glued tree medallions on the pommel, sharpened quite a lot over the last few years I had it, shortened the blade and scabbard, made a new han...

Re: Returning ranger

Renfaire parking was full, and The city a unforgiving maze, so ended up not getting inside... Seriously considering going hiking with my kit for an hour or two

Returning ranger

Hey guys, haven't posted in here for quite a while. I'm going to the Renfaire tomorrow so I figured I'd post my outfit, featuring my chainmail and new(ish) sword. Couldn't find my boots, so sneakers will have to do.

Re: Who were the Forodwaith

Lotro designers seemed to think they were Finns based on the names some had in the game. I think of them as a weird mixture of iron age Finns, Saami and early vikings. Probably because I'm of that stock myself and consider the middle earth version of me to have dunedain father and lossoth mother.

My ranger satchel

Okay, so i haven't posted anything in here for a while, work and school seemed to suck all the energy out of me for a while. Made, purchased and modified a lot of stuff while I was gone though. Here's one that proved more useful than expected. My leather satchel or knapsack or whatever you wanna cal...

Made this in my spare time. Its not pretty, nor traditional and not even forged, but the metal is spring steel and its damn sharp. Spent an hour splitting small logs into smaller ones with, and no signs of dulling. or damage of any kind. Took a full force swing at a really large log and no damage to...

Re: Samick SKB 50 - The Perfect Trekking Bow?

I have one of those with homemade leather handle. Shoots really well, easy to carry around and looks pretty good customized. Still holds well after 5 years of shooting about 100-300 arrows a day. I highly recommend it.
