Re: Southeast Rangers

The Rangers of the White Tree (Georgia) are certainly interested. Keep us posted.

Re: New Boots!

Great looking boots. I like how you added the shank. I understand what you mean about high boots. I use a laced boot so I don't have the trouble of them coming down.

Re: New bow, and some projects

Good looking equipment. Good for you on the new bow. I know you will enjoy it. Like the horn too. Working on one right now for my Ranger of Ithilien kit so like how you suspended it.

Re: New frying pan

Great looking pan. I've been looking into those as well. Just received an early period Lancer's wine bottle off Ebay today. This one is crockery all the way through and has no stamped markings. Will do well for the "pale yellow wine" mentioned at Henneth Annun.

Re: Chess

I have a nice Hnefatafl set that seems to be patterned after the Isle of Lewis chess pieces. It has a linen board so it folds up easily in the wooden box that I've reserved for it. I place the pieces in small leather drawstring bags within the box along with the linen board folded up. It's a great g...

Re: What should one eat on the Road?

For our treks, I've been copying the list as detailed at Henneth Annun. Of note, red cheese seems to be Leiceister cheese that the coloring annatto has been added. I found this cheese in the fancy cheese section of Publix.

Re: Need feedback on idea of a 'Middle-Earth inn'

I believe the renting idea would work for many don't want to commit that much of their life to such a project as I have in mind. My feeling was if the Amish could do it, then why couldn't another group? And if you had a building with modern amenities, it would not be such a shock. But so far, it's j...

Re: Need feedback on idea of a 'Middle-Earth inn'

I've had similar ideas. I have nearly 20 acres here in Georgia (woodland and meadow with 1 acre stocked pond) and I've wanted to create a self-sufficient Middle Earth village and community. My wife and I have no children and no heirs so it would be a good project to pass on. Problem is you have inte...

Very good looking kit and a lovely environment to Ranger in. Future posts of encampments there perhaps?
