Re: Middle Earth Burial Rites
I picture the Orc ceremony as being a clan surrounding the dead orc and in single file from most important to least walking past the body and pissing on it. At least that's what we do in my tribe. :D Couldn't resist. The original topic is interesting and I look forward to reading the comments. I wo...

Re: Dwarvish Axe
AWESOME I love love love the Angerthas. :) Couple thoughts - - given that you knot the tail, you might not need the keeper and would get a more period look without it. - A custom buckle would be a superb apprentice forging project!! I totaly agree about the keeper, I wasn't origanaly going to...

That actuly seems possible, I used a hired TV camera once and had to take keys and loose change off people to stop the sound boom picking it up

Re: My first cloak, and a question (pic heavy)
So then my friend it seems even the Khazad can agree with Gimli's statement, if not Aragorn's! My appologies young one for a beardling you must be no matter the gender but my admiration for you does not waver in the least! You have done fine work, you should be proud of, and many thanks for your ki...

Re: My first cloak, and a question (pic heavy)
That turned out pretty cool! Is the front embroidered? The detail is stitched on, it isn't really embroidery, I have just used simple stitching and thick back thread to create the paturn. (It sadly isn't very clear on the photo taken with my speshal extra cheep camera to meet image size limits) Gla...

Re: My first cloak, and a question (pic heavy)
I finally got round to making a hood from the left over fabric to complete my plan. Figuring out a paturn that worked took a few goes and quite a lot of scrap fabric but I got there in the end. Re: Dwarvish Axe
I wasn't sure weather this should go in hard or soft kit so I thought I'd post it here to save starting a new thread. A few weeks ago I said I could do with a belt that wasn't my work one, here it is: IMG_20171113_215931.JPG And this time (not like on the axe sheath) I spelt Erebor in runes right, m...

Re: How well did PJ/WETA do? A poll
To be honest I like most of the WETA stuff. Rohan seemed very like I imagined it. I love the architecture of Helms Deep and Moria (Mordor and the Black Gates are good to). Gimli's kit is amasing. Lake town (and the master of lake town) is as I imagined and so is Mirkwood and Beorn's houce, the list ...

Re: Tolkien Family In Talks To Sell LOTR TV Rights
Fascinating, so it looks like we will likely never see a Silmarillion move or TV show.
Sadly I will probably always be guilty of thisStraelbora wrote:how many of us default to Weta's 'ethnic' design for all things Elvish, Dwarven, Rohirrim, etc.
