Re: Waterproofing Leather?

Really digging the recipes for more historical versions in here. I tend to use mink oil almost exclusively because it is, in my opinion, incomparably waterproofing without sacrificing suppleness which makes it ideal for boots/shoes and gloves. Adding oils to beeswax helps retain the softness but ne...

Re: 3rd Age Dunedain Ranger - Complete Functional Kit Breakdown

As for Gauntlets/Gloves...I just can't. The added bulk of various little things like this quickly adds up, and I have ALWAYS preferred the finger dexterity of uncovered hands. There are hundreds of things I could have in my kit, but have summarily chosen to leave out, and gloves repeatedly keep get...

Re: 3rd Age Dunedain Ranger - Complete Functional Kit Breakdown

I think it would work, I have a signal mirror that's nothing more than a thin piece of stainless sheet that I polished on buffing wheel, it's not completely flat but for a signal mirror, it works fine

Re: An quick experiment with archery technique

I finally finished fletching the new shafts and tried them in my grandparents back yard, my reference point is back almost where it was, still not exactly the same but I'd call it a success, the new limbs are starting to feel normal and instinctive archery is working again, almost as well as it did....

Re: Forum business cards?

These look cool! You can actually simplify the address quite a bit: middleearthrangers.org/forum works just fine and is much less of a mouthful. And just a pedantic nitpick: it's always Middle-earth (only Middle capitalized; hyphenated) not Middle earth, Middle Earth, etc. Thank you  Hmmm,...

Re: Forum business cards?

Agreed, the printing prices are the same for both, I really can't decide so I'll go with your opinion, unless your outvoted before I go to the print shop :P [EDIT] On second thoughts I don't really need the https:// on the URL, do I? If I took that out I could make the text bigger and more clear at ...

Re: Forum business cards?

I came across this thread the other day, this is an amazing idea and it got me thinking, it's coming up on my local medieval fair (which I intend to go to in kit) last year a lot of people asked me questions and out of those maybe I would have given a card to one or two, so I decided to see if I cou...
