Re: What's everyone working on?
I've been away from my alter-self for a few years (stupid real world). But over the past few weeks, I've re-kindled and found that I had saved a few coppers during the plague time that allowed me to get some new goodies to round out my kit. So I've been gathering and organizing all the various bits ...

Re: Lion totem?
I haven't thought much about animal totems for my persona yet, since i'm a newb. But I am a Leo, so lions have always had a place in my heart. Was also the team for my high school (back in the second age, it feels like).

Elwindil, if you've not seen them before, you might also check out Nigel Armitage's videos. He's a traditionally trained master leather craftsman in the UK and his videos are great. There is one where he thoroughly demonstrates proper mechanics for cutting leather. I found the techniques work well, ...

Impressive. Love the depth in the color, which I'm sure the photos are only hinting at.

Re: How do you clean your messkit on the Trail?
One thing that I was taught as a wee rangerling is to really work to eat all my food. I'll get into it with my fingers at the end to get all I can. Then I'll heat some more water in the pot, swishing around quite a bit to get the dregs loose and drink down the "broth". That way, cleanup is...

I've been having good results with Vaporust for cleaning up old tools. Very easy to use and low toxicity.
Good luck!

I almost got some of that last summer when it was on special. Just couldn't swing it at the time.
I look a lot harder at their fliers now, since they give their elite club pricing to vets.

Re: 2018 New Skill / Ranger Goal Challenge!
How old is your son? Using pretty much Goodwill clothes, I put together some cute Hobbit outfits for my boys a couple of years ago. They're growing like weeds, not sure if the bigger set of clothes will now even fit the younger one. He's 14 and nearly tall as me. I'll have to do some Goodwill runs ...

Re: 2018 New Skill / Ranger Goal Challenge!
OK. I'm a newb here, but glad to find the forum since it's something I've been mulling over for a while. My goals for this year: Get a basic soft kit that's reasonably authentic put together (tunic, pants, boots, cloak, belt). I've got a couple things that will work to start (judo pants rock!), just...
