I have a Polish Lavvu tent, so I am making a "footprint" to make up for the fact that it has no floor. I'm also working on a way to incorporate the mosquito netting in order to make it a truly, "4 season" tent.

I had a thought that you could make use the graphite center from a carpenter's pencil and sandwich it between the end of a split stick. Did you have a pattern that you designed/made/used for the hood? How did you attach it to the cloak in order to maintain the lines for the tent?
