Re: Seax Review.

OK, I'm here a day late and a silver ha'penny short, but I'm locking this topic for a day to let people cool off. I'd really hate for this Forum's character to change, I've taken great pride in the fact that the problems I've had to deal with have been from hackers outside our little community and n...

Ok, We're back up. Uruk nearly had me this time.

Hey everyone, sorry for the long disappearance. I got hit with a double whammy. All of my sites on this server were hacked, and I had the devil of a time getting it back up. But all hacked content has been removed and I have hardened the site, hopefully this is enough. Until I can sufficiently harde...

Re: Ranger vs Modern

Well that's a good question, especially depends on what you concider modern, and if you are trekking or sedntary. In general I shy away from modern stuff out of preference. But, I count among my 'Ranger' items, several WW II vintage pieces, such as my grandfather's canvas bedroll and a WW II frame p...

Re: What's going on, What I did...

Here's a fun one. Same as sister Siani, I can't get on via FireFox on my home computer. I can however get on using FireFox at the library... Odd. Well, I know it's not a Firefox only issue, I'm a Linux/Mac guy, and my main browser is a Firefox base. The main trouble seems to be related to cookies. ...

Re: What's going on, What I did...

Hey guys thanks for the feedback, I'm going to respond to several posts in this note. First, overwhelmingly there has been a request to return to the old forum template or something like it. The old template is a PHPBB 2 template and won't work with PHPBB 3. I am looking to for a good template that ...

Re: What's going on, What I did...

Oooh, a wiki! Nice! This may not be the place to ask, but how do you add pics to the Gallery again? Chris, After you log in (not sure login is working quite right, you may need to log into the Gallery separately, but it is the same username and password as the front end and the forum.), scroll down...

What's going on, What I did...

If anyone is interested.... Here are the big changes that made it into the site in the last few days: I upgraded PHPBB to PHPBB3 I installed Joomla as a site manager (this allows us to use one username and login for everything on this site.) I upgraded the Image Gallery (which has languished because...

Re: Doing Site maintenance... You "SHOULDN'T" notice

Just so you know (which you probably already do...) I noticed a Google [bot] on the site as well as more than one new member that are companies... Hey Gareth, Thanks for the note, I know about this, and think it's a good thing. Among the upgrades I did on Monday was to upgrade PHPBB2 to PHPBB3, whi...

I got big into natural dying a few years back... It's really fun to find plants in the back yard, prep them, and use them to color period clothes. Really makes wearing them come alive for me. The things I took away from it: wool is the easiest to dye with natural dyes, mordants make all the differen...

Using the Gallery

Hey all... Several gallery registrations found their way into my spam box, I have now activated you. Anyway, Gallery membership is currently open to any member of the forum, I may at some point restrict it to members with a certain amount of activity, We'll have to see, that's a way off I think. As ...

Hey guys, sorry for the dorks. THey've been removed. I wish I'd caught it earlier, but I've been wrapped up in work for a few weeks and not been paying attention.

Those responsible have been sacked, and the credits have been finished by a new team at the last minute at a great expense.

The Uruk have been repelled.

OK guys, the Uruk have been repelled, their accounts have been deleted, along with the other 5 or so 'albanian' users that registered at the same time. To prevent this in the future, I've added Administrator approval to all new users. I don't want to start approving messages, so hopefully this wiil ...
