The thing is, for stuff like this Hobbits get a pass.
Most of ME is Dark Ages to Early Medieval, but The Professor made The Shire quite anachronistic.
Matches, Smoking pipes, and Mantle clocks to name but a few.

Re: Overnight trip to test clothing
Athfwyn, Greetings
I like the pinafore and hood, I think you've caught the right 'feeling'..... Very Hobbity looking walking stave (and 'Stoor Boots' too, this is a woman who is out travelling in all weathers... Not just a gentle stroll to a friends house)

Something like this perhaps?
Its from a re-enactment supplier (and only £12) who covers the Napoleonic Period, I think its a backspring rather then a friction

Re: Waterproofing for Canvas
Well your options are Oilskin/oilcloth, Waxed (like a Barbour jacket) or Lanolin..... I'd suggest watching this vid by Iodo before deciding on a 'Slicker' or not https://youtu.be/2KXIol9wjEo?si=EKRtPZmAnpPnhP9e Both Iodo and I are UK based, so we have experience with bad* weather. Where in the world...

Re: My Ranger kit V2
Nice gear, much better pallette.Looks less costume and more clothes I see that you can wear the cloak over everything and your picture twelve shows an interesting side effect.... I had to look twice to recognise it as a human form, try adding a veil for maximum face-on ranger sneakiness. Yes, I agr...

Re: Presentation of my first soft kit (with photos)
I remember back in the early 2k's hearing about a big debate (read "Argument") over belts in a Viking/Anglo Saxon group (Regia, I think). The main thrust was over the width with some parties advocating 1 inch or less! But all the 'factions' were agreed on rings being fine if not preferred.

Re: Arbedo--New Ranger Sword?
As a suggestion, add some packing between the blade and the wood when you wet form. If it ends up a little loose its easier to fix then if its tight and you can't get your sword out.

Re: The Adventurer's Guide: Weapons
As the Guide is supposed to be an In Character book, I'd try not to use meters as a unit. Feet&Inches (or Yards) are better, but if it was me I'd use body measurements such as Paces, Arms-length, Handspan, Hands-breadth and Thumbs-width. So for instance "A Greatbow/Longbow/Warbow is a Man's...

Re: Thoughts on Civil War "Dog Tents?"
Napoleonic Redcoat here. In my Period there were instructions how to make a tent from two blankets, two firelocks and four bayonets. So we assume tent groups of four..... Packing a sodden blanket into your pack must of been horrible, especially when any dry(ish) clothing would of been in there to. T...

Re: Dwarven Blade Examples
The only thing I can remember The Professor mentioning about Dwarven swords it that they are broad bladed..... Well those look broad to me. Much as I like leaf blades (and if I could justify having one, I would in a heartbeat), I'll agree with you that multiple fullers do look Khazad...... And if a ...
