Re: Equipment of the other cultures
Also, as I type this, my AK and shemaugh are both within reach lol. Right? This is exactly what I was talking about. (Looks over at SKS... Oh California...) I have been thinking of this as well, and have been considering weapons of the haradrim I could incorporate into my kit, as I am stationed in ...

Re: The battle of Framsburg
You wrote that!? That was pretty epic! I would love to hear a reading while enjoying a full pipe and some ale.

Equipment of the other cultures
I was going to call this 'weapons of the enemy' but it really applies to any race. In modern times, many military members "go native," so to speak when in a foreign land or at least take a liking to some equipment, food, or mannerisms, if that makes sense. Like many i know have developed a...

Re: Keeping Company with a Company of Rangers
I think at least 2 would be good. Enough to watch your back. 4 would be better; a team. Then you could split things up like a guy with the tent, one with the poles/pots, one with the food and one with the water. I think it also depends on your mission. Am I holding off Haradrim in Ithillien or am I ...

Hey! I watch your videos! But I missed that one. Good points. Glad I didn't make a mistake with this one.Iodo wrote: ↑Wed Jun 22, 2022 6:36 am I'm a little late to the party but I made a video talking about exactly this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KXIol9wjEo and I think you have made the right decision

Re: Cloaks: to wax or not to wax
I hear you! A lot of modern equipment seems made for multitasking; definately a learning curve doing things Middle Earth style, but it is fun to learn how things were done. Makes me feel a bit like a pioneer. I'm in Glendale. I normally go out into the foothills, but recently I've been venturing out...

Re: Cloaks: to wax or not to wax
Thank you, everyone! Lots of good information and things to think about. I think I'll follow Greg's advice and not wax the cloak. I guess we all go through a phase of trying to get things to multitask!

Re: No stupid questions? Challenge accepted!
1. I think it'd be cool. More immersion making it more fun. I wish I could learn Easterling since sometimes I travel with an 'Easterling witch,' but thats something the professor just didn't create. Hand signals are definately useful if you've got a group. 2. A little of both. I chose a region with ...

Cloaks: to wax or not to wax
I know every good ranger needs a cloak for not only the elements but also for concealing. I've been thinking of waxing my canvas cloak in case of rain, but I figured it would make the cloak unable to breath in the southern California (my southern Gondor) heat. It already doesn't rain very much here....

Re: Hello everyone!
Allow me to be the first to welcome you to the forums Togon, I hope your stay here is fruitful. The white mountains are beautiful this time of the year are they not? They are! But not really too white this time of year. Southern Gondor is hot! Wrlcome. I just found this place as well. It's amazing ...

Hello everyone!
Mae govannen! I am Togon from Belfelas. Former soldier of Gondor, I've taken up rangering around the White Mountains. For reals though, I've been looking for ways to get out and go on adventures again for a while. I love Tolkien's world and when I found this forum, I felt it gave me the 'little nudg...
