Re: Matuls wool "medieval bushcraft" tarp
An interesting useful item.
Has anyone used a product like Nikwax on a woolen fabric like this?
Would it help to make it more weather resistant?

Re: Gondor tree stamp
That looks like a nice heavy duty wax seal. The Shire Post mint makes some but the brass looks a little thinner. They have more than one design.
I haven't ordered from them but very tempted.

Re: Dale made padlock for my workshop
Brilliant...
Another inspiring well done project.
I bought a number of these type of locks years ago to make "old West" strong boxes, still have a few left.
I think now they will have to change form for a different time and place.
BTW Amazon also sells some Indian padlocks.

Re: Beorning nobleman knife
Gulli thank you for the detail pictures of your beautiful work. Pictures are worth thousands of words. A picture I think that would be most educational would be the knife and sheath surrounded by all the tools used to produce them. Again well done from someone who has spent the last 50+ years making...

It's nice to see rangers out and about.
It proves the grass is always greener on the other side of the mountain.
It's buried under white around here.

Re: Hoard Key
Eofor, Yes, now I see I missed that detail in your first posting. You did have the vision and good taste to commission such a piece so it's still a plus in my book, that's still inspiring. When you have it in hand please post a few more pictures with something for scale. I did check out Gulli's work ...

Re: Hoard Key
Eofor, That is an inspiring piece of work. After seeing yesterdays picture I did some contemplating on it's construction. Makes me want to go play in the shops instead of doing all the mundane chores of a homestead. Did you put a hole in the end of the shaft? (pipe key) , How did you fasten the boar...

Re: Dry goods and other musings
An interesting topic.I have only really thought about trail food from a 18 century American longhunter perspective. Many of those food items are not present in a earlier Northern European setting,so I start over. In my contacts with SCA events trekking food was never explored. While thinking about t...
