Thanks pete. thats an idea. Ringulf,as far as a pattern goes. i took a peice of canvas 24 inches long by 20 inches wide. on the 24 inch long ends i folded each one over and sewed a hemm then ironed it flat, then i folded the fabric on the 20 inch side with the inside out and folded the edges over on...

Cool, thanks. i did find a fabric shope on amazon that sells 10oz canvas in an moss colour. waiting on a reply to an email concerning the width of it. :D

Thanks, so far it works good. i need to load one up all the way and go for a day hike with it on. but there is very little slipping around on my back with it. im curently thinking of a way to tie off my diamond fly onto it. i like snap sacks because you have accsess to either end. no digging out all...

Just a thought on this subject, as far as socket arrow heads go. broadheads in the viking era often had a tang that fitted into a hole in the shaft. the shaft was wound with linen string for about two inches down. ive made heads like that and they are very sturdy indeed.

Hey guys i need some advise. since were on the subject of cloth. i have some 10oz canvas im working into a new hooded cloak. i would like advis on dying the fabric ( i wanna go with od green,or close to it) i have absolulty NO experience with fabric dyeing. so HELP!!!!!!

Cool i did remember it ( kinda right). you gotta admit sword and sheild does make sense when youre going up against an enemy thats no stranger to arrows and throwing spears. { edit, its time for me to re read it too}

As i seem to recal. in the second part of the lord of the rings ( book two the two towers) uppon meeting with the rohirum, and after the initial meeting with Theodin, he gave Aragorn a sheild from the aromory there. this suggest to me Tolkien invsioned Anduril and most other blades as single handed....

ok this is a pick of the test pitch i did in the front yard tonight. the thing i like about a diamond shelter is all the ways they can be pitched.
