Re: Horses
I've always thought of Freisians as the perfect ranger horse, being nimble yet sturdy. They are very capable of carrying a ranger in full armor while cantering through the forest. Their black coloring makes them good for camouflage. They are also a Medieval breed and were used by knights. Just a fe...

Re: Horses
I used to ride a bit when I was young then in college I was a groom at the Myopia Hunt Club in MA. I took care of a troop of polo ponies, a pulling team of Percherons (wow was tthat mare a nasty @#$%^) and one rather large wolfhound named "Sugarbear" (riding him may have been easier). Bra...

Re: Swords of the Hobbit
I never saw Glamdring and Orcrist as hand and a half swords. Until the recent movies by PJ I always saw them as single handed swords. Sting I have always seen as a long dagger, double edged...good enough as a shortsword for a Hobbit as it says in the book, and small enough for a pocket knife for a ...

Re: New-er-er Dwarves!
Even though everyone else has said this, I will repeat it. They need beards! They have this scrubby stuff looks like it's only been growing for a few weeks! I have always pictured dwarves with beards at least 5 inches... Hopefully they are still working on growing beards, maybe they wanted real bear...

Re: Appreciation
Awww. That's sweet. I agree that everyone here is wonderfully awesome. Except I think that I don't do enough ranger-ish activities.  Secret message to all other board members: Everyone ignore Suzanne now. :P  Nah, while you're at it, if you're going to ignore her for not doing...

That reminds me. Have you ever heard Leonard Nimoy sing the Bilbo Baggins song? Now I have that stuck in my head.

Perhaps, but they skipped some of my favorite parts. Beorn's home, for an example.

I liked how in the 'Peaceful Meeting' pic you were in the shadows. How very ranger-ish of you.

Re: Ranger things to do in S.C.
I memorized every distance from every point on the map to every other in the 2nd grade. But, for most people, it's easier to type two locations in the Google Maps 'get directions' section, and see how far away they are. Idaho to Japan: 7,477 miles. All by car and boat, of course, so you need to stop...
