Re: Ranger Fitness?
Sounds great I will put my layout here and on the other thread and then I will start a progress thread, great suggestions. The plan will have more than enough room for primal training types. Thanks so much now I have to figure out a good outline haha.

Re: Ranger Fitness?
Just a few things and then I'm going to stop arguing the point here, this is supposed to be a place to post the plan I don't want people to sift through 10 pages of back and forth to get to the meat of the post. And why is it that the military requires such strength? Because soldiers are increasingl...

Re: Ranger Fitness?
I wish I had more prepared to post other than just a response, I actually do think that the wheel needs to be reinvented, the stuff you guys are talking about is great as a segment of the workout, but not as a whole. The movement in the exercise world is great, kettle bell swings are great but they ...

Ranger Fitness?
I have though for a while that someone needed to come up with a comprehensive fitness plan for the warrior woodsman. I am really interested in fitness and nutrition so I thought I would dive right in head first. What I quickly found was that this was a much more daunting task than I had imagined. I ...

Re: Scenario: Winter, 3 things.
I wouldn't be concerned with finding food. Wintertime concern is maintaining body heat. I would have to agree with the before mentioned posts, cloak, axe, firestarter. I would supplement a natural shelter with packed snow as much as I could before sundown and start a little fire. Pile up as much woo...

It's a Swiss army surplus pack, it's hard to see in the pic but it has an external metal frame.

Re: Couple New Pieces of Kit
The swept hilt on my blade I'm not sure about. The blades were a gift, sort of. They were given to me to train with because I showed promise and our shire is trying to make a name for itself. Now, while they were given to me, I will be giving them to the next gearless fencer that shows promise. I am...

Here is the Jute firepouch in action. Its pretty nice, I stuffed the whole roll in one side and started pulling from the cente...

Couple New Pieces of Kit
I went thrift store/army navy shopping today. Came up with some cool stuff, I am trying to get some kit for my first overnight SCA event. Naturally I have to do it in MER style. My undershirt is a a woven merino wool that I will be modifying to have a tunic neckline. The green coat over it is my mas...

Re: Good Bushcraft Reading
I think this has been linked other places but I like their system for ranking. I think it would be good to have standards in rank for combat, archery, bushcraft and fitness. http://www.survivaltrainingohio.com/tables/survival_skills.htm By the way, please post up your favorites too, this wasn't supp...
