Re: A Few Bow Making .pdf's

:(

Crap. Well, if you can't shoot it then it wasn't really a bow. The sound of a bow failing is comparable to dropping a vase or crunching on an egg shell in scrambled eggs; very cringe-worthy and nerve-damaging.

Re: Need feedback on idea of a 'Middle-Earth inn'

Yes, it's Ravenwood Castle . Other similar sites are: West Stow Anglo-Saxon Village Nordic Inn Medieval Brew and Bed Ravensborg, Viking Longfort There's also a nearby SCA knight with a hardcore Viking persona that is talking about building a hall on his land. What you are describing sounds a lot lik...

Re: Scenario - March 2014

Scenario - March 2014 Organization: 1 x The Archer with 10 arrows 2 x Spearmen 3 x Swordsmen ---The Pair (1 x Spear and 1 x Sword) ---The Trio (1 x Spear and 2 x Swords) * The conundrum for me in this scenario is the lack of weapon diversity and the unknown enemy strength. I would think rangers woul...

I would think , as with any legal issue, you should consult local LEO or counsel.

Re: Dunedain are whom I aspire to be like

I am reminded of US Army Special Forces and their missions. They are, for me at least, the modern version of the Dúnedain. Small groups acting independently, using subtle ways and means, inserting themselves into larger bodies under arms to influence events from the shadows, and developing relation...

Re: Need feedback on idea of a 'Middle-Earth inn'

I remember a medieval themed hotel, conference center, and camp somewhere in SE Ohio, but I believe it went out of business. Can't remember the name, but it was something like Ravensguard or Ravenswood. I'll keep looking around what happened.

Re: Interesting book for Rangers...

Also, while searching around about this book I found: Sons of a Trackless Forest: The Cumberland Long Hunters of the Eighteenth Century by Mark A Baker. Since it's out-of-print, it's a $350 cost, but maybe hopefully, it could be re-published.

Re: Interesting book for Rangers...

I was reading a review of this and found this a quote from the book: “To become a competent scout, you must divorce yourself from all thought of comfort and safety and think fear. Think alone. And think silent.” Reminds me of a particular suspicious-looking chap sitting in dark corner of the Pra...

Could a cheap blend emergency blankets be acquired and the lanolin creme from a drugstore re-applied?
