Brookside Music...Roadside Rest
Went for a bit of a saunter about the Wilds today. I took my lyre along with me. Inexperienced at these kinds of things, so much to learn. Even so, learned a great deal, and more importantly, had a lot of fun. The brook is very loud and rather rambunctious, what with melt and rain. The camera was fu...

Re: A Ranger and her lyre...dressed funny. ;)
Thank you, Ruinar. :) I have a further piece...fragments of pieces I am working on, really. Finger exercises as well. Assuming I can get the video to post. Alas, I am still in the wrong clothing and environment. I shall try to ensure I have at least some proper garments on in future, and perhaps get...

No, I wasn't even aware Wardruna and related used them. I like the look of it, I already like lyres, so I have one.

Sure, when it's not raining, snowing, colder than hell. Spring comes and goes here, mostly goes so far. Snow due today even. Until I make a case, I won't take her out into the cold and wet.

A Ranger and her lyre...dressed funny. ;)
A taste if of the sound of my Kravik lyre. Fragments of story and poetry coming soon. This is a lovely instrument and the one I am most likely to take with me into the Wilds. Light, compact, lovely voice. What else is needed? Yes, I am wearing funny clothing in a strange looking place. ;) CIpNh74onT...

NA flute tiny bit
Yesterday I discovered, quite by accident, that either the tiny camera I have or the monitor itself has a mic in it. As a result, some people heard a touch of Native American flute....and then asked for a little more. I did so for them. Very small bit, and of course, I am not a streamer or anything ...

Riverine Ranger
So I've finally ordered in a canoe. A Carbon Fusion Prospector 16 by Swift. They have a kind of woven look to them, almost herringbone looking. This is my story; it's made by the Elves. Black, with an ivory bottom, it weighs only 34 pounds, something I need given the condition of my left shoulder an...

Update from Nandaromar
Well met, folk. :) I've been working on my harping a lot of late, preparing for a year of spontaneous performances to come. This includes a fair bit of Middle Earth inspired stories and pieces of my own composing. I am looking forward to it, very much so. I've not been so active with weapons aside f...

Re: Doings in Randiromar
Elleth: The bag for the harp hasn't been completed as I have found the making of it rather challenging. It needs to fit close and yet still allow the instrument to be easily removed and inserted, and it needs to repel water and other things, and be padded. For me, a complex mixture of thing. The two...

Re: Doings in Randiromar
The cloak I am using is just a rectangle.I must have missed Greg's cloak, I haven't seen it. Mine is just a double layer of wool, rectangular, held closed with a penannular or other kind of brooch, and a separate cowled hood. it has no neck indent or hole, being a simple rectangle. More flexibility ...

Doings in Randiromar
The DelTin sword and my Elven Hunting knife, both. I still need to make and apply ferules and grip for the knife, then make a wood-core sheath. The two new sheaths will include Elven decoration, although subtle, mostly tooling in the leather covers. No gems, none of that. Possible a Ranger star. I'v...

Re: Woodland archery - what's the longest shot you get?
I hunt in kit and clothing each year, shoot every Sunday weather permitting, and use a bow exerciser otherwise. Routine stuff. I also go out and practice shooting prone stomach, prone back, in a variety of sometimes odd positions. Hunting has taught me much about adapting my bow use to the terrain a...
