Re: The Battle for London
I just read a political essay which made parallels between the Lord of the Rings and the UK riots. I can post the link here (if it's within forum rules to do so) or PM it to anyone interested.

I chose Erebor.
I've always been a kindred spirit to the dwarves.

Re: Looking for a Cane
Thanks, Will,
I've been looking something a little more traditional-looking with... I don't know... a stealth/subtle weapon characteristic: like an old malacca or rattan cane with a brass knob, for example.
Hoping that someone here has something in their attic, collecting dust and cobwebs.

Looking for a Cane
I'm looking for a straight, durable wood cane with a solid metal head (fritz or derby handles... possibly knob style if it's attractive enough). No sword canes, please.
I have some knives and blunt weapons I can trade. PM me if you have a cane that's taking up space.
Thank you.

Re: Whats your program for ranger fitness?
If anyone is familiar with Bas Rutten, he puts out a very good product. I'm in good shape, and I still lost 11 pounds on his program:

Re: Hey Panday.
Any chance you'd be willing to share some bits of that patina formula of yours with us? I've been wanting to make an axe like this for quite some time, and yours looks nothing short of excellent. Oh, hell, why not? On this piece (and others), I stripped the steel and clean it. Then I took a g...

Re: Hey Panday.
Frothgar, Sorry this reply is so tardy. have you used it since youve made the modifications? I used the axe right after it finished on a couple of 2x4s. I put a slightly sharper edge on the head by drawing back the bevel about 1/2" farther into the blade. It cut very well. is it sturdy and rugg...

Tunic: I am thinking a sleeveless tunic The easiest way to camouflage your arms is to have sleeves. That's why, when I was in the Army, we used to laugh about Schwarzenegger's muscle shirt in "The Predator" and Stallone going shirtless in "Rambo". Remember that the Viet Cong gav...
