Re: My kit as of now

The bedroll does indeed just go over my head and I'm a pretty big fan so far though I've yet to test it out in the field. The only issue besides the deteriorating strap that I can see being a problem is that it hugs very tight to the body. As far as I'm concerned at the moment this is a good thing ...

Rare Del Tin Glamdring on Ebay

This is an older Del Tin Glamdring, designed after the one in the Rankin Bass, The Hobbit video from the 70's. It is made from the old Krupp steel and is combat ready. https://www.ebay.com/itm/333430180196?ul_noapp=true No it is not mine. You rarely see these come up for sale as there were very few ...

Re: Charcoal burning: anyone done it?

Both videos were excellent Judging by the burn time and then the time to cool, I'd estimate at least a week before you can open it up and remove the charcoal. I'd probably err on the side of 2 weeks just to make sure there are no live coals, otherwise it will relight and you'll loose everything you ...

Re: Starting to Assemble a Dwarven Toolkit

Instead of a hand cart or pony drawn cart, consider a pack saddle to carry goods and tools. It's very easy to make a pack saddle from some shaped wood slats, a moving blanket, some garment leather scraps , a steel ring about 2" in diameter and a piece of leather belt strap. I made one for a pho...

Re: Northman subforum?

There are more Dwarf personas on the forum then any other except Rangers. They also are one of the most interesting. If it comes to a vote, you have mine !

I can see specialized sub forums for others as well.

Re: What are we doing?

Hi Eric: I'm working on a project that will be revealed in the form of a upcoming contest prize. It will most likely be a pick a number between and the closest will win the prize. I want to keep it real simple as everyone has a lot on their plate this time of year.

Re: Revisting Bree

I''d suggest the estimate of 300 villagers to be way on the low side. With children and elders in the mix, we're probably talking closer to 600. Couple that with the surrounding farmers, helpers and their families plus wood cutters for the town we're talking a bustling community. thatch 1.jpg thatch...

Re: Grommet's Leathercraft

I can't help but think if you took three eyebolts, opened the eye of one passed it though the other eyes of the other two and then closed it would work just as well and be a lot cheaper. Next time I swing by Lowes or Home Depot, I'll test it out. Not a bad idea. I'm curious how the spacing and the ...
