Re: Thoughts...?

Thanks for the time and effort you are putting into this Ranger Ursus. I could see this virtual teaching, expand into other areas in the near future.

A large portion of my time is spent outside and it seems ticks here in Kentucky have gotten, much worse over the last few years. Luckily I have not had to deal with Lyme, but i...

Re: The School of Adventure Studies (UK)

I have found that the younger generation is trading in the want for material things, for the want of experiences....as an old man, I can say there is wisdom in that.

Middle Earth ambient sounds

I have always been a fan of ambient music, especially now it's bitter cold outside in Kentucky....can't open the windows. I like to listen to ambient when I read or before going to bed. I found these LOTR & Hobbit inspired clips and thought I would share it with my Ranger brothers and sisters......

Re: PJ's lack of Preperation

I prefer hand ax and knife...in function and form...for survival and defense. Many medieval archers, carried both, along with their longbow.

Re: On shield shapes...

A lighter smaller shield would be preferable, if one was traveling long distance or through the woods. A heavier shield would be preferable if on horseback or traveling short distances....how tall or strong the carrier is, could also dictate the shield used. I also believe personal preference comes ...

Re: Extremely Lucid explanations of Lotr Topics

I liked them because, I never could get through Tolkien's Silmarillion....loved the THE LORD OF THE RINGS, liked the THE HOBBIT...but was bored to tears when trying to read THE SILMARILLION. Personally, I didn't need that much back story into the origins of the world..... to me ALIEN is better witho...

I think the right tattoo, in the right place can be complimentary to the wearer. I have a Celtic knot, I designed that goes over and around my left shoulder. My family is from Ireland...I was 43 years old when it was done...it was my first and last....still like it after all these years, it has beco...
