Re: Happy Birthday Shadowhawk

Thanks all! Things are peaceful yet suspiciously warm in Forodwaith right now. Must continue to expand my armory and remain vigilant. I think I'll make a kodachi for my emberverse kit...

Axe for firewood

Found an old rusty billnäs axe head that I started to make into a viking axe when I was about 15 that I didn't quite finish at the time. So I decided that it would make a nice woodcutting axe for a more permanent camp. Removed most of the rust from the head and then re-sharpened it, and it already ...

Can you mail them to Finland? If so I'll take one bronze and one steel.

Re: New knife

Umm...not sure I understood the question, the wood is inside the sheath. Look up "scandi style sheath" mine is like that. I've attached a picture of a insert of this style before the sides are glued together. Also a picture of the back of the sheath. as you can see its hang on the belt wit...

Re: New knife

Good stuff! Is the sheath at all shaped (I mean like boiling the leather then stretching it around a mould)? It has a wooden insert the size and shape of the blade at the bottom of the sheath. After making that I just soaked the leather with hot water, cut it, made some holes and sewed it to its sh...

New knife

Okay so I recently bought a marttiini ranger, however it did not have a very middle-earth appropriate sheath. Thus I made a new one. The knife itself is a "new generation leuku" and unfortunately stainless steel, though very durable. I burned a dunedain star and the big dipper with the nor...

Re: Pictures of your ranger kit

Mk.2 I think I'm starting to get the hang of this. A smaller grey version of the previous tunic, a grey wool cloak, green fingerless wool gloves, brown soft leather arm guards, a really old army belt with runes burned on it, an olive green "scarf", a signalling horn, same old quiver, woode...

Cold steel frontier hawk. Fun to throw and chops surprisingly well for such a little axe. The cat on the other hand falls under the same category as dwarfs as far as tossing goes...

Re: My ranger armory

My newest sword. Windlass Oakeshott Type XIV. Sharpened it, removed the leather on the handle, burned some runes on it then wrapped it in green rope. Then removed the dye on the sheath, burnt some bindrunes and vaguely vine-like shapes on it, then dyed it green. Oh yeah I also glued some snowflake e...
