Re: Any Modern Boots That Kinda Fit The look?
You might want to check these out. Chris and I looked at this site about 2 years ago but I don't believe either of us bought them. I picked up a set of custom high mocs from Ebay for $140 but that vendor is no longer doing business either thru Ebay or online. These definately have a look suitable an...

Please join in, in Congratulating Chris and Jessie Russo
This afternoon our fellow Ranger Chris Russo, tied the knot with his lovely bride, Jessica Campbell in a fun wedding on Long Island. As befits a wedding with Scottish decendents the brides' father wore a kilt and the groom, groomsmen and Father of the Bride all wore baskethlited Claymores. At the en...

Re: Travel Clothing by Half Moon Sale
I'm not so sure about their stuff. It all looks pretty bulky. Then again I've never seen it in person. Thanks for the sale link though. Not really bulky, not light weight either much lighter than your average winter jacket (about the same as a wool sport jacket). In the pic (attached) the temps in ...

Re: You just can't take a leasurely stroll in the woods anymore.
Got an idea for a shot, entitled "Ranger Basic Training"- Several young men and women dressed in garb overlooking the Grand Canyon with one holding a shovel. The caption would read "What do you mean fill it back up again ? " Yeah, I'm bored again, can you tell ? Chris, When you g...

Hi Folkes: Just a suggestion in the event we experience further downtime and need to contact a fellow member, that a member host a contact list of email addresses of anyone who is interested. This individual could be contacted either for an email address or contact the intended relaying a message to...

Re: Question on horse tack
Yes, very much so! Aside from attempting to do a normal set of saddlebags, I figured a horse mounted society would want to have saddlebags that should ,your mount become incapacitated or have to be put down, the saddle bags (or rather one of them would readily convert to a backpack). Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Ranger vs Modern
Natural fibers over synthetics definately ! Denim, leather, cottons is my basic wardrobe, except several sythetic pairs of pants for work. Footwear, I'd go with hikers which are what I wear almost 100 % of the time. Natural uppers, synthetic soles. An assortment of knives and daggers, both modern an...

Re: Taking Lindsey's Thread a little farther
My first thing would be to build a cart from wood and bike wheels. Each member of my party would carry a backpack with some food, water, firestarting equip, blanket and the gear a ranger would typically carry. Bladed weapons, bows and spears would be carried, armor and helms worn. I have 1 sleeved b...

Taking Lindsey's Thread a little farther
Lindsey's thread Modern vs ranger poised the question of which you prefered in a SHTF scenario. These scenarios are always fun so let's alter the scenario a little. For some unexplained reasons, you are part of a post apocolyptic scenario: a tenth of the world's pop remains (you and your family havn...

Re: Ranger vs Modern
I must admit to prefering most modern over replicas. While I have a good many swords and several bows, my first choice in defense equipment would include several firearms. I have a family to consider so it wouldn't be head for the hills with what;s on my back but a more make a stand in the homestead...
