Re: Pictures of my full outfit.

Looking good, Brett! Your style of simple and unadorned--but still sturdy and functional--gear is very much in keeping with Tolkien's Rangers. Carved pipe is very nice, thumbs-up for carving it yourself! What kind of leather is your jerkin? Thumbs-up on the walnut dyeing, too! The jerkin is moose h...

It was a grey green when I bought it but I boiled it in homemade walnut dye until it was a rusty green. P1010558 (525x700)cloak.jpg Here I am with sword in ha...

Pictures of my full outfit.

2nd layer is my leather jerkin with my sword belt in place. The jerkin started out a lighter brown but sweat and wear have darkened it considerably, keeps the brambles and thorns off nicely. Forgot to add that the jerkin has been waterproofed and also doubles as an extra bit of ground cloth or shelt...

Re: Pics of my weapons and pack

Very nice kit and weapons. Your gear is well thought out and apparently well tested. When possible could you please provide us more pics of the sword and sword belt. The POB on that would make it manageable even for much smaller person. If we all ever got today for a picture, the rest of us would l...

Occasionally I also carry a cut down dane axe. This one is the newer one from Cold Steel. It was quite chunky around the socket when I got it, but some time on my big belt sander took care of that. Now its scary fast.

A close up of the hilt. Fittings are bronze. Handle is a fine grain black shark skin wet molded over a deeply grooved wood core with braided bronze wire fitted into the grooves. Best grip Ive ever felt on any sword.

These are the weapons I carry on my belt at all times. First is my custom XIIIa war sword from John Lundemo of Odinblades. Its stats are 52 inches long overall and about 4.5 lbs. The blade is 5160h and has to be the hardest and most flexible blade Ive ever seen. Its POB is about 3 1/2 inches up from the guard. A big sword but lively, also Im 6'8 so it evens out. Next is a cold steel norse hawk and a dirk built on an old windlass dagger blade.

Re: Scenario - February 2014

The perfect post to make my intro! In my opinion the village is lost already so I'll use it for bait. First I'll say that I've taught and lectured on WMA and HEMA for over twelve years so I'll rely on my experience here as if I where the man. First Id have the veteran lead an evacuation of the villa...
