Re: Says my IP is blacklisted…anyone know why that happens?

That happened to me several years ago. I'm still not sure about the source of the problem, but I'll do some digging on your profile and see what I can come up with.

Re: On How Strictly the Society's Standards Are To Be Adhered To

The heart of your question is not what you think it is, I believe. The real question you are asking is "How closely ought *WE* to be holding one another to the MERS standards for garb?" The WE is what is in question here. You are posting on the Middle-earth Ranger Forum, a welcoming and fr...

Re: MERS Fall 2022 Trek Recap

Days were high 60's to low 70's, and nights were mid-50's. Unusually warm for November, and given that these dates were chosen about 2 months in advance, it was nothing short of a mad stroke of luck that we weren't sleeping in the 30's. It was colder right before, and became colder right after. Tota...

Re: So it begins

O-ho-ho-boy have I been there. Glad to hear you're alright, and looking ahead! 60 lbs is definitely a lot to be carrying without modern support and suspension. I'll be trekking in the near future and am sincerely hoping to remember to get an accurate fully-loaded weight before I leave for my own inf...

Eofor wrote: Tue Oct 04, 2022 3:26 am Have you considered burning it out Greg?
Unfortunately, there are portions that have to be, essentially, "undercut" for this particular design, and so flames would too easily burn parts of the boat that I need to remain intact. Definitely already thought that one through thoroughly.

Re: So, I got a log...

I forgot to update the forum on this for a bit...I dug pretty thoroughly into the interior, and it's definitely begun to take shape, but I came to a standstill with a lack of specialized tools to help me hollow out some complicated/hard-to-reach parts of the interior, and I'm starting to think I may...

Re: What if...

I, for one, took the barest components of the historical "snapsack" nearly eight years ago, and basically invented a new means for carrying kit based on a tube of fabric. I still haven't seen any examples of historical snapsacks without their own dedicated carrying straps, and all that I'...
