so...then as a cloak it's pretty useless, as you're always going to be touching it? Wool is best for a cloak as even wet it still has warming factors where other material won't. If you live in a very wet area, you might want to try a waterproofed canvas outside with a wool lining. It will be quite ...

By waterproof them mean it has been treated to repell water. Rain will bead up and run off, but don't put it in a depressed area and don't touch the sides when it rains.

Another search that will get some hits general is "SCA Fighter's pants" This time of year they are generally selling cotton but during late summer-fall you can find wool ones.

What about a sheath for a short bow on your back? Or, if you're moving around without your ruck, a bow sling of some kind. The sheath works well. This one is lined and while the bow pictured is a short recruve hunting bow, it's actually big enough for one of my longbows. The 2nd one is just a littl...

Virtually any hardened steel will throw sparks. If you don't happen to have one you can use a fine file. It's a good all purpose sharpening tool anyway. I took a fine file and ground off the handle/tang to make it small enough to fit in a belt pouch. The only drawback to a file is that it chews the ...

These are a few of the water carriers I've done.

These are simply covers for glass bottles or new leather covers for a hard and a soft bladdered bota.

I've yet to try the leather jack type, but I'll get around to it sometime.

To add the tube I went to a plumbing supply and picked up some copper joiners (not sure if that is the term) just a 2" long tube with the same exterior diameter as my staff. I then filed away a little where the tubing was going to cover, just enough so it would not slide on. I then heated the c...

This is a German pack but the price is right. I'd replace the snaps with regular buckles and remove thw side pouches and replace with straps.

2 for $ 20 you can't go wrong.
