Re: Khazad Culture?
Speaking of Dain's red axe, I'd like to know how that was interpreted by everyone else when first reading about it. An axe rusted red? Metaphorically red/ perpetually covered in the blood of Dain's enemies? A red wood handle? Mythical unspecified red metal? Or simply an axe painted red? What was th...

Re: Khazad Culture?
Why were the spears of King Bladorthin abandoned? Simply put, they weren't abandoned, they were stored. Spear usage get restricted indoors so they were probably just set aside (stored)in a chamber for a time when they'd be needed and simply forgotten. Figure that chamber as the "everything draw...

Question- Not really sure where to put this
I'm far from the Tolkien Scholar so just wondering. According to Tolkien, orcs breed in the normal fashion and there are few females to males. Are orc females the equivalent of brood mares? What is their gestation period? How to they fit into orc society? Do the children mature a lot quicker than hu...

Re: Swedish media group buys Middle-earth Enterprises
I agree, Zaentz and his corporate heirs would sell their grandmother, but I suspect this company may try and develop what is, in my humble opinion, the antithesis of the Professor's work: a theme park. OOOH, "Going down to Goblin Town" - an underground roller coaster that plays that song ...

Re: What's your opinion on a forum update?
In my opinion, formed, over several forums and many years, many newcomers don't look for Beginner Subforums. I feel our Welcome Subforum "Getting Started" is exactly where it should be at the top. It's the first thing you see and the first thing newcomers will look at.

Re: What's your opinion on a forum update?
I've been using Imgur for years. It's pretty simple. I keep my originals on my computer, download to Imgur and then do the Direct Link to the forum. I have the originals on my computer for the same reason Cimrandir mentions. I lost access to a lot of pics when Photobucket pulled their BS. The main r...

Re: Cooking pots..... Whats yours?
Regarding the Stainless Interior Moscow Mule mug: They should work fine as a small pot however the handles are generally soldiered not welded so there is a good chance the handle will come off when using. Be very careful it doesn't come off while you are moving a hot beverage or food, you could get ...

Re: Captured Easterling Blade
I have an old Windlass Falchion that is one of my favorites. For Rangering either it or my Atrim 1557 would be my swords of choice. I have several hand and a halfs, a sabre, cutlass and a few single handers. For a wooded area, I want something relatively short so either, works well.

This is my current visitor. I've had as many as 5 at a time visit me but, this one comes about every day. We're actually in town although you wouldn't know it by my surroundings. I generally toss cut up apples several times a week and I can get pretty close them, I don't push it. Don't want them to ...

You may have also come across them during their rut during which they are notably more belligerent. I don't know much about them but it was at the beginning of February I'm getting conscious of how much I have derailed the thread here, sorry all... I don't think either you or Jack derailed the trea...
