Re: Question about Cloaks

Try bedsheets. I have a cloak I made out of two layers of cotton bedsheets, and it works great.

Re: Cold Steel Seax project (continued)

Those look amazing! I'm really tempted to get one and try this out...my brother would love one, that's a great excuse! And of course I'll need to buy two just in case I screw one up

Re: Brewing

Time for my next naive question. How do you boil water? What kind of pan/pot and mug do you use and where can a historically accurate one be acquired? How do you suspend it above the flames? Re: Pack Improvements.

If I remember correctly, Aragorn wasn't worried about running out of food. He said he could provide food for them if need be, but that it took time...and they were being chased by the Nine, so time was on short supply. After Weathertop they were on an even tighter time table.

Re: Leatherworking Projects

Sorry it took me so long to get these up, but here are some bracer pictures. First, the pattern. http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx260/Brian_Grubbs/Bracer.jpg Basically I measured how long I wanted it to be on my forearm, and then measured the diameter of my arm at the end points. Divide those tw...

Re: My newest Ranger

I think I'll be going with "Henelena" for her ranger name. Means "eyes of the stars." Runners up were "Hensisil" (shining eyes) and "Henurille" (bright eyes).

Re: My newest Ranger

Thanks everyone! Kiriana, of course you can be her Ranger Nana! Everyone needs one of those! And Ken, I'm looking at various elvish forms for "bright eyes" cause that's what I think every time she looks at me :D

Re: Working with rawhide

I've used rawhide to make a tomahawk sheath in the past, and I just sealed it with varnish to keep it from absorbing water...not that it really is a problem, it doesn't soak up water nearly as much as regular leather.
