New Flint and Steel
So I've been really busy this summer with work and my weekends have been spent finishing my truck, but that's finally done and now all my evenings are free. It's been a while since I was one MERF but I'm coming back with goodies! With my newly acquired tender I bought myself a flint and steel and......

Re: Cold Steel Seax project (continued)
My friend recruited me to convert his boring old latin machete with a plastic handle, into an awesome, custom seax! I forgot to take a picture of the original blade before I tore into it, but here is my progress! I busted off that horrible handle and sanded all the black paint off the blade. Then I ...

Woodworker
I don't have access to high end exotic woods, but I can easily get cherry, oak, maple, walnut, you know the basics. I won't pretend to be a professional but I consider myself fairly good at woodworking, I am going to a tradeschool for woodworking mind you  . If there is anything anyone wants ma...

Re: Eating Supplies
I liked them for the high walls and because they are pie pans, I presume that they are safe to cook with so I want to figure out some way to make a detachable handle for them to cook with them and eat from them.

Re: Eating Supplies
I was bored the other day and decided that I liked the look of a 2 prong fork over a 3 so I cut off the middle prong to give it a better look and got rid of the jagged edge afterward

Re: Desperately Seeking Oilcloth
Not sure how much free-time you may have but I'm sure you could follow the tutorial I posted a while back. Its made with I believe a bed sheet although I'm not certain of what you need it for. This is more so a tarp/groundcloth piece. http://ranger.budgetauthenticity.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&...

These aren't really anything in particular, just a few things I thought up that sounded cool:
The Lost Arrow Inn
The Weary Rider Inn
The Dusty Wanderer Inn
The Ranger's Escape

Re: Made by yours truly
Wow, that's beautiful! You wouldn't maybe want to give us a little run-through of how you did it, would you? Sure thing!! Firstly, all that is just the scrap pieces I dug out of the scrap bucket at school. I borrowed the teachers coffee mug he had in his office to draw circles on the scrap pieces. ...

Here is some of my progress. It still has quite a bit to go but my arms can only handle 2 hours of chopping every two or three days. My hatchet is really heavy

Re: New Pouch
Good Find! I look for those "indian" purses made from suade (sp) with the fringe that were popular in the 60-80's. Cut the fringe off, add a button or tie and you have an excellent pouch. Believe it or not there was no fringe on it!! I just noticed that it also has this pair of strange lo...
