Re: You want Dunedain Culture? There's a movie coming out.

I almost forgot! Congratulations, and well done, to Ken! The poem that the storyteller was reciting to the children, I do believe, was written by him. The filmmakers were lucky! They got input from a real-life Dunedain Ranger for part of their storyline! The film just wouldn't have been the same wit...

Yes, the miscellaneous category has been re-instated...I just forgot to add it to the original post. Your pics look outstanding! Well done! Congratulations on being the first entrant to two of our categories, and my compliments on the sling! Looking forward to seeing your projected "improved&qu...

http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/3528/dscn0008hp.jpg New belt from Pete, coupled with a modified attachment for the Christian Fletcher Locket that came on my Bristol. It still swings, but NOTHING like it did with the suspension system it came with. I may decide to dye the belt a little darker and...

Re: You want Dunedain Culture? There's a movie coming out.

I just finished watching Born of Hope (and The Hunt for Gollum again, while we were at it). We connected my computer to Lori's family's big flatscreen tv to watch it, and I was blown away. It was incredibly well done, the acting was, as a whole, extremely well done, and the costumes and props were, ...

Re: First Annual Ranger Photo Contest

The short days HAVE been a pain...I ran out of light last night, moving stuff down to my truck for my move out of my apartment today. Take what you can when you can, and we'll get this thing judged at the end of the month. I'm glad everyone's taken a sudden interest, though! Pete did a good thing by...

Re: "First Annual" Ranger Photo Contest

Good job, whoever cleared out that Orc invasion. I daresay that was the worst yet. That was pretty much Amon Hen status. Mike, I am absolutely positive that you can pull off some awesome photos with your iphone. The iphone has quite a powerful camera, and editing isn't everything. Capturing the esse...

Well done, Odigan! Excellent photos! Glad to see you're still with us. Well, maybe you're not... Anyway, don't expect me to post until the recent troll has been eliminated. If you want to reach me, shoot me a PM, and I'll see that when I check to see if this flood has been taken care of. Perhaps our...

Re: LOTR movie costume website

She's always got a wealth of info on her page. I've never seen photos nearly as god as hers anywhere else of the movie props. Great Ranger reference photos, for those who are into replicating P. Jackson's Rangers.

Re: Happy Thanksgiving Everyone

Thanksgiving was wonderful this year. I just got back from clothes shopping with Lori (it's 11:41 pm Thanksgiving evening...the outlets are already opening...*sigh*). Once she goes to work (at 1 am, the poor girl) I'm headed over to the Hunting and Fishing store here in town for some REAL black frid...

Re: Happy Thanksgiving Everyone

Happy Thanksgiving! I pardoned a turkey this morning as per the presidential tradition...but a little differently. I went Turkey hunting on Lori's grandpa's property (been going all week unsuccessfully thus far) but when I drew my bow on a bird today, I decided that I'd just come back tomorrow inste...

Re: New Water Bottle, Blowing Horn...and other new stuff...

That's what I was thinking. Those buckles are far too nice for a price like that...which is why I'm getting extras. I almost feel guilty...but hey, he offered it, not me. I can't argue with that! EDIT: Order placed! They're shipping the day after thanksgiving! It's funny...I and many like myself hav...

Re: New Water Bottle, Blowing Horn...and other new stuff...

WOO HOO! I emailed sonny, and it's only going to be $7.50 for a pair of buckles, plus shipping. So, naturally, I'm ordering two pairs. Once they're here, I'll be able to finish those bracers. In the meantime, I'm working on building my first prototype bow, and cutting out the pieces necessary for th...
