Most handwritten maps only individually indentified the most promient peaks. A mountain range would typically show a cluster of mountains and only 1-2 would be singled out. The scale just would make it too difficult to single out each hill, mound or mountain in a range. This is particularly true of ...

It's the wood core that's causing the problems. The difference in humidity from India to here causes the wood to swell thus tightening the fit. Your best bet is to make a new one. I'd suggest a lined wood core scabbard similar to the ones I describe in the " Sword scabbards the inexpensive way&...

You can get a good many manuals on cd for under $10 including shipping. Your best bet is actually Ebay as these vendors compete with each other and have no overhead. I got 3 of the Ranger Rick manuals and was a little disappointed. The first three at least are geared for the military with how to pas...

Maille by itself isn't that noisey. It will make a swishing sound as the bottom hem moves but it is pretty quiet unless you're wearing leg armor or high boots that come up to the bottom or the maille, in which case, everyone will know when you're coming. To cut down the swishing sound dramatically, ...

I havn't tried this particular bow but woodbows.com does have a decent rep for inexpensive bows and I have fired at least two of theirs- no problems.

When reading back over my previous message I realize I made a mistake, my two recurves are not Bear but are both Pearsons.

Hi Greg: The good thing about a large backpack is that you don't have to fill it. The canvas one in the picture was stuffed with 2 overstuffed bedpillows just for the shot and would only be filled like that for a trek to a basecamp for an extended period. Typically I'd carry a shortsword, dagger or ...
