Re: Looking to naturally darken some leather.

The leather conditioner will darken it some. That plus some good wear and tear in the woods will probably give you the look you are going for. If it was me I would go over it with a light brown stain first and then condition it. Hope this helps!

Re: WMA - Spear Work

Here's something that you might find interesting that Ive had saved in my favorites for years. Smaller lighter spears like these work well while ranging I find. I do love my big war spear a little more though.

I already own this one. Fantastic read, loaded with a ton of helpful info for moving unseen through the woods and helpful tips for clothing and kit.

Re: Very soon...

Looking good ranger! It's not to bad here in Illinois. We got a few inches Sunday night but nothing terrible. It was damned cold all weekend but I still got out in full kit for a few hours Saturday . The rest was spent in front of the wood stove with my wife, Unfinished Tales, and a glass of single ...

Re: Small-Scale Community Media Project

It might take me a few weekends but I can get decent video of almost all of those shots. I currently own and operate my own small fechtschule and have several advanced students that would look great on film. I will also happily take to the woods and get some good coverage on camp life and such. Also...

Re: new enameled canteen + carrier

I really love all the work you put into that strap, is it adjustable? ...Ish. As-is, it's just long enough to bump on my hip, but I can fold a section over itself and put a locust thorn through to pin it, and make it shorter. (that's what's happening on the right side of the strap in the picture^) ...

Re: How do I maintain my longbow?

I use the same 50/50 mix of linseed oil and mineral spirits that I make oilcloth with. I also wax my bow staves with beeswax on occasion. Hope this helps!

Re: New Lars Anderson Video

Is anyone else following the comments that Mike Loades has made concerning this video? Ken Indeed, Mr. Loades says it well. It makes me think that in many ways Greg and I are saying the same thing just on different points of the same topic. This is why we need an inn dang it lol. Id love to have th...

Re: Concerning Pipe-Weed

Just my two cents but Peterson Irish Flake is my pipe weed of choice. Beware though, its quite strong. On the upside you can pitch the empty tins into a fire to burn off the paint and then use them as handy storage containers for your pack.
