Re: Working on a Bree-lander kit

It is very cool but what it really says to me is that a stout club of a native hard wood could look just about any way the carver felt it should and was as fished as his skill allowed. Thus giving this project a very open ended interpretation, as most "folk" crafting would be.

Re: Period-appropriate trekking superfood: Dried Mushrooms

Wow this all sounds so scrumptious! I am very fond of mushrooms and have collected many recipes for them over the years. I have used them in soups and stews with wild scallion and yes Barley does pair well with most mushrooms. I enjoy them fried with onions most of all. but they are also quite good ...

Re: Barrel-shaped leather costrel build (pic heavy!)

Excellent job Brother! I love it! Your execution of the barrel type was very strait forward and in the end produced a very functional and beautiful piece. The esthetic focus on the one I collaborated on with Caedmon was my contribution, not the original design which was drawn by Caedmon himself but ...

Re: Ash & Griffon Pottery

Well this was done a while ago, I am not sure if I have influenced anyone by this post, but I would like state for the record that last March at Gulf Wars I caught up with Ash and Griffon Pottery and purchased my Rune mug. I absolutely adore it and though it was no difficult decision as to what mug ...

Re: Some LOTR inspired leather goods.

I have seen some of your work too, I must say you do a very nice job of everything I have seen. No worries about its "newness" everything is new at some point. Rubbing dirt on it will prematurely make it looked used, if it is for a costume that is fine, but the best way to weather kit, is ...

Re: Musical Insturments

I have a little Washburn "Rover" travel guitar that I carry around... I love it because it sounds pretty good and it's got a very small body. It's easy to play in the front seat of a car on long road trips. I also play flute and sax but I have to say that I really prefer the Boehm system ...

We all hit rough spots...glad to hear you're coming through one of yours and are the better for it! Thanks, Greg, Several Rangers sent notes, you among them, several times last year, and it kept me connected and made me realize how much this group had become part of me. I missed it and now It feels...

Re: A Busy January

Yes, the Live weapons group and the equestrians I hang with are very friendly and fun-loving folks. they, by nature of their personas, are the more common, even with titles. We have a good time but until now it has all been centered around weapons practice, However, I have them very excited about th...
