Awesome first attempt! Far better than my first try ever was.

Re: Fall 2019 MERS Moot
Three days. Overnights on Friday and Saturday and packed out on Sunday morning in a refreshing light rain. It was a joy to finally attend a forum gathering, the only thing that surpassed the weather was the fine company!Elleth wrote:How long were you out for?

Re: Film Inspired short bow- Finally complete!
I was just wondering, how fast can you get the bow strung and firing from having it mounted on your quiver? Im guessing you have to take off everything to get it into firing mode? I have little bow as well and I'm trying to get a system down for drawing the bow from my back, stringing it, and firin...

Re: Film Inspired short bow- Finally complete!
The points are a mix of commercially available points that I’ve collected over the years. Most of these have been ground down a bit to suit the lighter shafts.

Re: Suduing wood and metal.. thoughts?
In thinking about dyeing arrow shafts, I've chosen to give it a try with my latest batch I'm working on. To that end, today I lightly buffed two dozen shafts, cut nocks into all of them, and did a cap dip on the first dozen in the leftovers from my last Walnut bath, which goes about 4-5" up fr...

Re: Film Inspired short bow- Finally complete!
Well that is just cool! How does it feel compared to your arrow bag? I see you went with wool rather than linen this time for the sock: how's the difference seem to you? (I just started a waxed linen one myself to see what I was missing. :) ) I like it quite a lot compared to the arrow bag. I reall...

Re: Film Inspired short bow- Finally complete!
Not bad really. This is just for transport and I like having my dominant arm free for work or action. Usually when I shoot I keep a few shafts in my bow hand. Handily enough the arrows are so short that I can actually reach across my body and still pull one from the quiver without much fuss.

Film Inspired short bow- Finally complete!
This is a project I’ve been chasing for months upon months and finally managed to wrap up last weekend. While I wouldn’t say that I tend to worship the WETA/film versions of design I have always had a soft spot for the films concept of Aragorn's ranger pack bow and bedroll. The minimalistic size...

Re: A new addition
Wow nice. How do you like compared to your Odin blade? Very different but enjoyable. The Odin is the better blade but the Hanwei is the better character piece. The original intent of the Odin was to be a family heirloom piece of which I am now transitioning it to. I have however commissioned a bare...

A new addition
So I was lucky enough to snag a Hanwei Tinker Great Sword of War recently for an extremely good deal. For some time now I’ve been wanting to revamp my day to day ranger sword into something more plain and common. To rework the piece I reprofiled the tip which pulled it from the XIII family into th...

Re: The Sword Beneath the Cloak (Odigan work)
Awesome! Definitely nailed the visual aesthetic.
Does it come in longsword size lol? Alternatively If you shrunk it down about a foot it would also make an amazing design for an eket.
My hat is off to Odigan for yet another job brilliantly executed.

Re: 2019 S.W.O.R.D. Game
Seems like this game has lost its momentum! Got any ideas to re-invigorate it, or has its time passed? I’m still here. I swear all I’ve done is watch it rain here in Illinois. My work is also at the peak of its busiest season. Im also wrapping up what is going to become my new everyday common m...

Re: 3rd Age Dunedain Ranger - Complete Functional Kit Breakdown
I'm not sure how long that I've been with the forum officially, maybe 6 or 7 years? Anyhow, it was a random internet search to see if any other oddballs like me existed and sought Middle-earth with the same passion and realism that brought up a picture of a guy in a cloak, jeans, and t-shirt carryin...
