Re: Ranger Shoulder Bag
I love love love this bag! Looks excellent! How is the suede for water resistance? I have never really worked with it but I have some to use in a belt pouch I will be making. Thanks! From my experience, suede keeps out water about as well as untreated canvas, if a little bit better. I'm debating tr...

Re: Ranger Shoulder Bag
The way the buckle works is interesting - I've been meaning to play with that concept at some point, but alas... no time soon. :) I used a conway buckle for the first time a few months ago, and I love them. Every purse I made for family members during the holidays came with one for the strap. They'...

Ranger Shoulder Bag
A few months ago when Manveruon was uploading his pictures of the layers of ranger gear he got me thinking about a dunedain satchel, which makes a lot of sense from a practical standpoint. You can't fit everything your're going to need into a belt pouch, and you might need to access stuff faster tha...

Re: Beware the Mops and Sociopaths.
10 years ago I was pretty involved in what eventually became the hema alliance, but life and family happened, so my active participation was drastically reduced. I still trained, but I didn't make it to events or tournaments for a few years. When I finally went to a tournament last year I was met wi...

Re: someone has been watching....
All of those design elements exist in other swords, but putting them together like that can't possibly be a coincidence.. And yeah, that steel one is made by Deepeeka, so it is undoubtedly clunky

Re: 3rd Age Arming Sword Scabbard
With that setup do you have much leeway with the back strap to make the scabbard tilt more or less?

Re: New guy, first post... What do you look for in a Ranger sword?
If there were such thing as a perfect sword design, every sword would look like that. I carry an older style borderwatch, from back before they were a standard offering with Albion blades. Mine is at least 3 inches longer in the blade and the guard is 2 inches longer. I carry it on a baldric which h...

Re: New belt pouch
Just one big pocket. I thought about doubling up the back wall to make a smaller tighter pouch for loose items but opted against it. I am looking for excuses to make another one, so that's an idea.Elleth wrote:does it have an inside divider, or is a single big pocket in there?

New belt pouch
I've been wanting to try a sporran style pouch for a while and I got ahold of some deerskin, so i gave it a shot. The flap was begging for some artwork, I think I made a good choice.

Re: My dwarven tomahawk got some new clothes
The blade was made by Baltimore Knife and Sword. It works pretty well as a camp hatchet. The shape of the blade is different from other hatchets I've used, but I loved it once I found the sweet spot.

My dwarven tomahawk got some new clothes
Made a little cover for the head of my Little axe. Tooled it to remind everyone that there's cutouts in the blade.

Re: The Name of What We Do
The best I've described it as is primitive bushcraft inspired by the works of Tolkien.
Like others have said, getting too much into the middle earth reenactment explanation lends itself a bIt too much to the LARP comparison.

Re: Current thoughts on "Ranger" boots?
I made a pair of viking ankle boots a few years back. They're.... fine? I might try remaking them some day if I get the time. I also have a very similar pair of ankle boots from GDFB and they get the job done. My go to for most reenactment-type scenarios are my Aragorn boots from caboots. I have a p...
