Re: My kit as of now

For tunic and trousers, if you wan't cheep temporary solution that more looks the part, I would recommend looking out in thrift stores for a plain linen shirt and pants, linen is easy to dye so there's no need to worry about them being in the more common lighter colors, one of my linen shirt/tunics...

My kit as of now

*This is more of a general kit post rather than being solely on the topic of soft kit so if it needs to be moved, have at it! I thought I'd post some pictures of my kit as it stands to get some feedback on the direction it's heading in. Something along the lines of Glaenry's recent kit critique thre...

Re: Hanwei practical viking sword customisation

Very nicely done! Might I ask what method you used to add those accent lines to the belt material? What's the wood the bridge was carved from? The wood might be macrocarpa but I can't be 100% sure, I grabbed a small chunk of it from the scrap bin in my uni's workshop. The lines on the belt however ...

Hanwei practical viking sword customisation

Been a while since I've posted anything here as life has been busy with uni and all that but! At last I've made some progress on my kit the first of which being I finally got around to customizing the hanwei practical viking sword I acquired a while ago. The sword itself felt very nice, simple but s...

Re: My first knife

by Melthrist » Tue Apr 25, 2017 8:49 pm Amazing! I just wish I had the facilities and space to do something like this. I'm sure that you would be able to manage something like this yourself without loads of space and fancy equipment as that's what I did! The only tools I used to make the blade its...

My first knife

So basically a while back I was feeling especially unproductive so I went into our workshop and had a bit of a scavenge around. I found a small bar of steel half buried under some gravel and in a spur of the moment decision I decided to make a knife of some sorts. I took a hacksaw to it and cut off ...

Welcome, my brother! Tiny steps, at first, and you're taking the right ones.

May I ask, where in the real world do you live?
At the moment I'm down in New Zealand

Hi there

Greetings people! So I've been lurking around this site for a few years now and I've finally gotten around to making an account. I don't really have much in the way of garb at the moment but I intend for that to change over the course of the future. I've been fascinated with middle earth since I was...
