Re: War Mattocks
Iodo - Your foam mattock looks not unlike the one I've been considering making. The size of the head and a nice two handed shaft seem about right for an end product something like a shepherds axe. I'd post a photo but damned if I can figure out how on this forum. A thought I had about this a while ...

Re: War Mattocks

Re: Rangers report!
I am sorry to hear that you are out of work at the moment. That is a very hard part of all of this. I may not like my job very much, but I am thankful that we are still working It's OK because I still live with my parents so I'm not stuck without money, and both of them have jobs they can do from h...

Re: Rangers report!
It's reached day 15 of the lock-down here in the UK, the factory where I work locked it's doors 10 days ago (the ironic thing is we have enough chemical plant to have started making hand sanitizer but the trade unions forced us to close) and I haven't been allowed further than walking distance from ...

Re: On the subject of blankets and shelters
cool, thanks for the info, the only thing I'm likely to do is one night trips, so I'm guessing I should be able to keep stuff dry by rolling it inside a tarp, and building a shelter, for one night I probably won't have an issue

Re: On the subject of blankets and shelters
Hunh - that would seem to be a pretty significant issue. How do people deal with that - are they just more popular outdoors in arid climates? Only used in shelters? Something else? I'm influenced by modern camping but I would have thought a blanket shouldn't get wet, if it were rolled up inside a b...

Re: Patterned fabric, Dwarven or not??
i sure wish i could find it from a local source but that has yet to happen... I know the feeling, I can get some wool's from a local upholstery warehouse (the place doesn't look anything like it would sell that kind of thing but they stock a little bit, have you looked to see if there's anything si...

Re: Patterned fabric, Dwarven or not??
Looks great! I think the pattern makes it a little more unique to you! Been rereading the hobbit and it seems like each dwarf had a hood that was a color of their choosing... Dr green to scarlet red... Cant wait to get to make a good clothes like this! Thanks so much :P This is a really simple proj...
