Re: Boromir bag build
Not sure if it’s just me but looking at the ends it appears to be stitched and constructed in a style similar to a portmanteau. If you zoom in close you can see the stitching and the ends seem to suggest a duffel bag type shape to my eye. I may be imagining it or it could just be folded and stitch...

Re: 2019 S.W.O.R.D. Game
Good challenge! I loved this one. Took me quite a few times. https://youtu.be/QxqWyStrDnE Glad you enjoyed it. I thought it might prove a fun break from the sequential cutting we normally do. After all a Ranger may not always have the benefit of dynamic movement. Regardless of blade preference you ...

Re: 2019 S.W.O.R.D. Game
A study in simple mechanics for my challenge. The big learning tool with bottle cutting is primarily about edge alignment IMO. The rule is simple. A straight drawing slice and the bottle must be completely severed in two. No rearing back just pull the sword through the target. Forgive the kilt, weâ€...

Lovely work. Your cutting is always so smooth. Morbid curiosity warrants that I ask, how many Albion’s do you own?

Re: The Picnic Roll – middle earth carry in less than 10 minutes
Great idea! It would be very much part of the Dwarven "mindset" or conditioning, to care for important items taken on the road in this way. This would be what could have been used to achieve the desired results until one could fashion or procure something more permanent...like a portmante...

Re: 2019 S.W.O.R.D. Game
True. I guess I was more worried about duplicating the exact mechanics and not focusing on the fine print "thrust through center bottle without it coming off your blade"

Re: Rainy day ranging
Mine are the "Medieval Boot" as I like the low heel they have. The biggest struggle I'm having is designing an upper that will bring them up to knee height and keep them "well fitted" as per the book. I really want to avoid any lacing system on these, maybe a couple of well place...

Re: 2019 S.W.O.R.D. Game
Looks like a fun one! I'll probably have to go for one of my arming swords or my XVIIIa on this one, there's no way a thrust from Cadeyrn wont cut the bottle in half in the process. No if this blasted rain would let up... Just for kicks I also want to go ahead and pick up Odigans last challenge even...

Re: Rainy day ranging
What boots are you using Ursus? Are they waterproof? These are nought but an extremely old pair of some unknown maker of renfair-ish boot. A friend gave them to me years ago, probably more like a decade. Being a size 14 in footware all that I cared about at the time was they fit and they were leath...

Re: wool vs heavy linen for trousers?
Im more of a wool guy than linen. I do have a pair of generic homemade pants from heavy linen that I wear more in the hot months. My woolen ones are nothing more that a gutted pair of vintage military field pants that got a lengthy walnut dye bath and a drawstring installed after removing the zipper...

Last weekends weather was rough here and I’ve been traveling for work all week. Not gonna be back in time to make this one I’m afraid.

*looks up from work project* *looks outside* *sighs* That looks awesome! (And now I see why you like that big ol' longsword so much. ) (In best infomercial voice) It slices, it dices, it...holds stuff up?? Or maybe a nice Hellboy style monologue: Elleth: Does it do anything special? Ursus...
