How do you secure the tie straps to the broad band? A single hole? Two? And particular way of making or reinforcing the holes so the toe straps stay put?

The shoulder strap has one slot in one end, and the other end is doubled over and another slot is punched through both layers. The tie band, goes through the one slot, over a carved wooden toggle, and back through the same slot so that equal lengths are hanging from the shoulder strap. The free ends are passed through the slots in the doubled section and tied in a knot. That's it. The toggle spreads the load at one end and the doubled layer and knot spread it at the other.

Looks great. I happened to have one long piece of strap so I used a toggle, rather than cutting the strap. Yours should work just fine.

Yeah, i didnt have a cut of leather long enough to do that. The inn straps need to be longer on mine as i fold my blanket is thirds. In stead of quarters as you seem to have done. Cant wait for field testing.

Thanks again.

Mine is in thirds. I fold in each side to the middle, containing the items within so they cannot slide out the ends.

Mine was originally made from an example of a tumpline from the Colonial period. That one had a wooden toggle as well...and since I hate to cut a perfectly good strap...there we go. LOL

I think you'll like the blanket roll. Convenient as it gets.
