First meet of March

Post by Sindara »

Wow! nineteen 'rangers' showed up for this meet! Granted, many of them were rather young… AND we do have pics this time (I just hope they've downloaded correctly). The first shot is of the group (most of, anyway) gathering for the adventures. Next is one of Turnip and Cheyenne, then one of Tim in his cloak. Then there's a shot of Tom (the property owner) and my hubby, Tom. Then a shot of a moose track - about 30 feet away was a bedding area for the moose. It's hard to see, but up the tree is a squirrel nest, and finally a crow's skull that one of the boy's found!

We also found some bobcat tracks, some weasel? tracks, rabbit tracks and scat, and the lower jaw from a coyote. After we were done roaming through the woods, we all met back at the house, where we were treated to a special treat - 'Moose Poop' (actually, it was No-Bake cookies - with oats, nuts, coconut, chocolate… YUM!) A great time was had by all!
May your days of peace be long, and your enemies few.

I guess I can't complain about our cold weather here. Nice pics, looks like your group is doing well.

Great group! It looks like you had a nice spot and a good day! I love that crow skull! I know exactly what I would do with that! Being a bird carver I would use that and reconstruct the head of a crow carving with polymerclay. The skull is the most important part in getting the right measurements and scale of the carving or sculpture, the rest of the bird is rather soft and can be less precise (though I do try and keep accurate feather sizes). Want a mascot?
I am Ringulf the Dwarven Woodsman, I craft leather, wood, metal, and clay,
I throw axes, seaxes, and pointy sticks, And I fire my bow through the day.
Come be my ally, lift up your mead! We'll search out our foes and the Eagles we'll feed!

That raven skull reminds me of those orcs that someone linked to on the Facebook group.
