Overnighter in Arkansas

Post by wulfgar »

I am looking at doing a period overnight scout here in Arkansas sometime in the beginning of June. It would be to a couple of waterfalls in the Ouichta mountains, in central Arkansas.
I know most are pretty far away, but if anyone is in the area you are welcome to join in. I will post a date ASAP.

Well, two friends and I just got back from our overnighter. It was a short hike, but it was into some nice country. We attempted to find the second waterfall but didn't have any luck. With bad weather,,which we thankfully avoided,,and the humidity we decided it was best to make camp.

I carried my gear in leather bags or rolled up and strapped to an Otzi style frame. I was fairly comfortable, and I was able to move through the woods easily.

Awesomesauce! Glad you all were able to get out and "do"!

Great area...we'll have to hit that area ourselves on one of my jaunts down your way.

Yes, it's not very far from the Russellville/Dardanelle area.
