New Hobbit Trailer

Where it's not Ranger related. Rankin Bass, Bakshi, PJ, or independent. If it's not specifically ranger related, let's talk movies (or TV)!

Revealing more, playing up comedy and adventure, and with a shot of Radagast the Brown and a chinchilla sled?!?

I think the sled is being pulled by Jackrabbits, actually. Overall I thought it was a pretty good trailer, though I did have a few issues with it. Still, I think it's important to relax and enjoy the story for what it is - and not to look for absolute faithfulness to the dear Professor's writings. Those folks who had issues with "dwarf jokes" involving Gimli in the LotR trilogy will likely want to burn this movie to the ground, but I can't say it has ever bothered me to that extent.

Here's something kinda' cool though. If you go to the link below, you can see 5 alternate endings for the trailer, all of which are pretty sweet - though I think my favorite is the one entitled "Sting."

Yep they are rabbits and the good lady over at thorinoakenshield.net has broken the trailer down frame by frame so here are over 200 HD shots of the trailer, including alternate endings. Bless her beard!

Thought I caught a glimpse of Ringulf in the background.
In the darkest part of Sherwoods glade, in the thickest part of the wood, there are those who say, can still be seen, the ghost of Robin Hood.

In opera the chorus are know as spear carriers...
works for Dwarves too!

(though axes might work better  )
I am Ringulf the Dwarven Woodsman, I craft leather, wood, metal, and clay,
I throw axes, seaxes, and pointy sticks, And I fire my bow through the day.
Come be my ally, lift up your mead! We'll search out our foes and the Eagles we'll feed!

The landscapes are stunning...particularly the opening few glimpses. I'm thrilled that it's finally almost here. Anyone else gonna be loud, proud, and in-gear for the premiere?

You bet your rangery boots I will be! I'll probably hold off on doing a specific character until I see how Luke Evans looks as Bard the Bowman, but I'll at least be there as a ranger.
