Sewing kit

Post by Ghostsoldier »

I thought I'd take a moment and post up the sewing kit that my eldest son made for me last year, made from hand-engraved deer leg bone with leather stopper, and the paper package it came in.

I just realized that this should probably been posted in the "Hard Kit" forums...the Mods can move it, if they see fit. :)

Thanks for the compliments, all; he's a pretty crafty fellow, and is actually working on creating an Elf Ranger kit for himself.

How cool!
Does the leather stopper double as an awl?

Yes...he hardened the center of the leather (somehow) so that the blunt/oversized needle could be used as an awl, without pushing through the back of the stopper; there's also a skein of thread that tucks inside the bone tube, too.

Oh very nice - using the awl as a stopper is genius! :)
