Fantasy Style Pouch

Post by Rarnir »

Finished this bad boy last night. Considering this was my first time dying and tooling leather, I'm really happy with how it turned out. I kept things simple and went with the star of the Dunedain, but I hope to do more complex toolings down the line. I sealed it with a beeswax/oil mineral mixture, and everything fits and closes satisfyingly snugly. The photos make it look a bit small but it's quite big and can definitely hold a good bit of stuff. I got the pattern for this pouch from TheDarkHorseWorkshop off his Etsy store, it's listed as "Fantasy Style Pouch with Drawstrings" and he's got some other great patterns as well.

Amazing work :P
Gimli: It's true you don't see many Dwarf-women. And in fact, they are so alike in voice and appearance, that they are often mistaken for Dwarf-men.
Aragorn: It's the beards.

As others have said Rarnir thats a fine pouch. Doubly so if it's your first effort!
But the white fury of the Northmen burned the hotter, and more skilled was their knighthood with long spears and bitter. Fewer were they but they clove through the Southrons like a fire-bolt in a forest.

Oh very nicely done. :)

I quite like the way the head of the closure strap there is a decorative ornament - looks awesome!

OOOOH! Very nice! I agree with Elleth about the strap - I really like the decorative element. And I appreciate that the design allows for a compact shape while also offering plenty of storage space. I’ve been needing to make a new belt pouch for my kit for a while now and I may have to take a cue or two from this.

Sorry, I was struggling with the image file size you're allowed to attach in the forum posts. Here's a zoom in for ya!

Very nicely done. Manveruon has done a few pouches and things with that closure system, and has said nothing but good things about it...I expect you'll enjoy using this for years!

Oh, I like that very much! The shape of the closure vaguely reminds me of a leaf or maybe a shield. Well done.
