Those are AWESOME.

Gosh, it's amazing how many new baubles have come on the market just in the last decade or so.

Bit of progress on the quiver! Since the star motif is kind of omnipresent across my kit I just kind of leaned into it here, but I deliberately added 7 of them to match the rhyme:

"Tall ships and tall kings
Three times three,
What brought they from the foundered land
Over the flowing sea?
Seven stars and seven stones
And one white tree."

Are you stitching the bottom closed, or will it have a shaped insert/cap?

Thanks folks! I’m excited about this one for sure! The tooling is definitely being kept to a relative minimum, but I do want to do something on the straps, I just haven’t decided what yet. Nothing too busy, but like... SOMETHING. I don’t know

I also re-cut the bottom end piece that you see here from scratch because I felt it looked disproportionately large, and I wanted to leave as much room between the two ends for the straps to cross. Liking this new shape a LOT better! Probably won’t show it off until it’s all finished though, so keep an eye out.

So yeah, good question! I have an end-cap cut and slightly wet-formed. I’m hoping to give it a little bend so that the bottom keeps that nice curve you see here, but I’ve never done that sort of thing before, so I have no idea if it will work! Going to give it a try all the same, so wish me luck, haha!

Progress!

I really wanted to show this off because I am SUUUUUPER PROUD of the rolled bound edge at the top! I haven’t done one of those in a really long time, and I absolutely love how it turned out! The one on the bottom is going to be a challenge though!

Also, the dye job is coming out a little weird and uneven for some reason (particularly on the little diamond patches), but I’m just going to lean into it. I think it gives it a nice, slightly rustic, hand-made feel. Too perfect would look a little weird anyway.

nice work mate, and dont worry about the variation on colour with the dying, it only adds to it, and if you add a protective coating over the top it might even it out a bit more as well
