New Finds- Please read the first post before replying

A central place to talk about weapons and armour, as it relates to your kit. This is where you show it of or talk about making it. Discussing the relative merits of types of weapons goes in the WMA section.

I have always thought that if a Dwarven Ranger were going to use a sword it would be rather viking-like instead of the Dwarven swords like Deathless and Kili's sword or even Fili's Falchone/seax type swords (though I do like them alot) So the va-405 Hedemark looks very good to me. Did I not see one of our members had one of these? Eric M didn't you get one of these?

That's weird...I always thought the Valiant hedemark was a wheel pommeled hand-and-a-halfer...wonder what happened there?

Haha, I just reeeaaaally want a Bristol, and that's an absolutely amazing price. But buying another another sword might send my wife into an apoplectic rage, heh.

Thanks! Glad you liked it.

One thing that bothers me with that review is this:
Some might see this as a negative, though if you are carrying the sword on a baldric vertically as it was meant to be carried its never going to come out.
Trying running with a sword in a scabbard that is hanging vertically. Unless it's a tiny spatha or something, you're not going to enjoy it, especially your left knee. :P

Also, this blade is significantly heavier than Angus Trim's classic type X (which I have). I would enjoy getting a new hilt on mine.

Your left knee, and your ankle, yes. Vertical is no bueno with anything longer than, say 24". Not sure what they were getting at with that. Oh well.

Couldn't NOT drop this in here. Angus Trim has a finished short-ish sword up for sale that belongs in a Ranger's hands, if anyone has $950 to burn and needs something that just seems to fit.
