Sooo...this is my hand and half and my main blade at the moment. Its a a tinker hand and half with a bit of modification. (tengwar, rune and stars engravings, glued tree medallions on the pommel, sharpened quite a lot over the last few years I had it, shortened the blade and scabbard, made a new handle slightly longer than the old one) Its pretty fun to use, though lighter than what I expect from a western blade. Though I am not very learned in medieval or renaissance sword techniques....

Yes, western swords are much lighter and faster than modern pop culture gives them credit.

Yes, I suppose. All I handled before this sword was windlass (lots) and cold steel (bastard and viking sword) and those were heavier though. Hence the expectation
